okay i know this is probably a pointless question, but everytime i start worms 4 i see the codemasters intro screen. what does codemasters have to do with this game? and what about microprose with worms 2...i can't figure out whats going on lol

They are the publishers. They are the people that commission the game and pay for all the advertising and distribution and production. And they pay Team17 to make the game.

okay, I'm glad that Team17 made the game which was my question. I feared i was playing a game not devoloped by Team17.

...Surely once you've played the game and know how good it is, it doesn'treally matter much who wrote it?

Not really. There's a matter of prefering one company to another. For example, I'd be more entusiastic about knowing that Team17 just released another great game than knowing that, say, Lionhead just released another great game.

I'm not sure what you exactly say, but I'll assume you'll want more T17 games if you find out their games are good, while Codemasters can still pay a bad company if they want, while you at least know that 17 are good.

etc.

didn't they use Sega before...which is why the worms were different!:D

you only said that because this is the Team17 forum, you would say the reverse on a codemasters forum.

The reason why the Worms are different is because they were modeled different, not because it was a different publisher!

Oh, these silly, silly people.

I agree, publishers can't change the game!

You know how they're different, different textures, different modeling and different render engines.

I prefer worms from Worms 4 : Mayhem, I don't like the ones in Worms 3D. Oh, Worms Forts : under Siege has the same worms with 3D.

Worms Forts Under Siege had slightly improved models, if you look closely. Also, they had smoother animations, more animations, and also they didn't have teeth showing whenever their mouths opened either.

Sorry, I don't have Worms Forts : Under Siege, but in the screenshots I see the worms too look exactly as Worms 3D.

But I still prefer the Worms 4 : Mayhem worms modeling, I hope Team17 to not change the Worms in future versions, like Worms 5.

And are they really working on Worms 5?

No. They are most definately not.

Actually, they might be. Just because they haven't announced it doesn't mean they aren't making it yet.

Maybe they are making it but they don't tell it to us for a surprise Worms!

Suprise? No, Team17 always used to announce they were making a game when they're at least about half-way through it.

So they still aren't in half-way.

2 years passed after the last 3D Worms, so if they take too much to make next Worms, they sure make a lot of improvements. Just what we need now is the progress of the new Worms and some news from Team17.

What? Just because they finished their last 3D Worms game doesn't mean they have to instantly start making a new one...

Yeah, Plasma's right. Just look at some other games for examples...

Stronghold: 2 Years after that came stronghold Crusader. It then took another SIX years for StrongHold2, and then another year for Stronghold Legends.

So, quite obviously, firefly studios made other games in the 6 years between Crusader and StrongHold2.

OK, so in the first, or in the half year Team17 took a brake of 3D Worms, but after a while they must make new 3D Worms. I don't think Team17 must take a lot to make Worms 5, how Team17 released Worms 3D in 2003, next year Worms Forts : Under Siege and again next year Worms 4 : Mayhem, and these three games are 3D! If Team17 done them so fast and take so much to make Worms 5, it means that they didn't started yet, or they didn't complete the half of the game, or they take a lot because they add more new things.

Or they are not making it at all! Which is obvioulsy what has happend because they are all working on worms for "Nintendo DS" and "PSP" Game consoles rather than computer. Which is sad.:(

You mean that they're working only for Worms : Open Warfare.

If it is true, so it is not fair. Team17 will dissapoint all PC users.

Look, just because they are currently working on W:OW, it does NOT mean that that's it. Forever. End of.

Instead, they'll do something different after that, maybe a new 3D one, but WHO CARES?!?

Team17 have already graced this planet with loads of games, and they've all been great! So you annoying, whiny, complaining people just SHUT UP! I mean, come ON! Give Team17 a bit of breathing space!
