I believe it was taken down. I just hope that when its put back up I can still download it without paying again or get a refund if it doesn't gets put back up.

Any idea on how long till the Manhattan landscape gets fixed? I was one of the few that purchased it. What happens now?

There will be an announcement and it will be fixed/replaced or you will be refunded - I'm on my way to the USA, but there should be some news up on here at some point.

I would like to think they are bundling a couple of maps in a download pack together. Even at a higher price we would at least have a chance to see them in play more often. Manhattan and a couple others?? Like I said I would like to think that

Yup, just at least a word on whether we can expect a fix or a refund?

I'd rather a fix, even it does take a while longer. Oh and any word on individual level music?

lightsup55

Oh and any word on individual level music?
You're talking about the free mis-labeled "Music Pack 2" that you downloaded on Xbox Live Marketplace (available at the same time as the other 2 retro landscapes)?

What you actually downloaded was Soundbank Pack 2, which is just a another voice bank pack to customize the voices that your custom team uses.

NinjaMonk
27 Jul 2007, 22:02
Yeah dude, I realised that!

Spadge spoke about them making new level music though a little while back and I was just curious if it was any closer to being released.

Since were not getting a refund with interest...how about when you re-release it on the marketplace, have a free gamerpic(s) included with it? :D

I have to agree here, not the best way to treat us loyal customers is it ? I have since bought nearly all the different worms games for my PC as I had never played the game before the 360 version, have also downloaded and paid for EVERY theme add on etc, but am left wondering why....150 point is not the issue here, an explanation as to what's going to happen is !!

You can't expect interest on scrip. It wasn't accruing any interest in your XBLA account anyway, was it?

Although a small freebie by way of apology would be a nice gesture.

Good people of XBLA Worms. We come in peace, carrying nothing but a tiny piece of Buddhist wisdom: Be patient.

Complaining about such an insignificant delay on these forums is insolent at best. Some people around here [a few forums lower, to be precise] have been waiting since the last millennium for features way more relevant than an extra landscape can ever be. Whether you already "paid" for it or not. You've been told a solution is on its way. And it's not like there aren't any better things to annoy T17 about as far as your game goes. Like the air strikes. Cough.

*Considers muttering something inappropriate about safety labels and problems taking care of themselves, but doesn't.*

"Here you go, the manhattan map. That'll be xxx MS points."
Ok cool this should be fun. Heres my points.
"Oh by the way, it doesnt work yet."
Oh.....ok. Any idea when it will be up and running.
"One day soon we'll announce an announcement about it.We're working on it"
(A month passes)
Uh....so...um team 17? Any word on that map I want to play.
(Team 17 glares in your general direction)
Oh...I see. I guess now would be a bad time to ask about more voices and bundling maps for more points.

Yup, this pretty much sucks ass!

I've tried e-mailing them as well and so far (over a week later) I've still not got any reply.

Might try ringing Xbox Live customer serivices in all honesty, I'm sure they won't be too glad to hear about people paying for content on their marketplace and not getting anything well over a month on.

My opinion of Team 17 has gone down somewhat after this. I know it's not like the content cost much, but it's the principle of the whole thing. We've paid for the content and Team 17 have as good as stuck a middle finger up and ignored us.

Just a simple reply saying we're working on a fix would have sufficed...

Really gets my goat this now, I posted for the first time on here when the game came out praising Team17, and had a reply within hours.....funny how things change aint it.....

I rang MS to complain about spending 150 points on a piece of DLC which had to be deleted, and was told to ring again in a few days as they would look into it.

Not holding my breath though.....

It is not that I want what I paid for, it is the fact that what I paid for was something I was interested in. After all, Manhattan is my all time favorite place to visit as often as possible.

Success!

I called and got my 150 points refunded.

I wouldn't have bothered if it wasn't for me being also able to get Undertow (800 points) refunded due it being offered as compensation for problems with Live and me having already bought it.

My call didn't seem to be outsourced since I could easily understand the guy and he owned a 360 himself and even commented on my downloads. Though he was a little lost as to what Xbox Live Arcade games were thinking they can only be played on an Xbox Arcade (aka Core) Console.

It's been more than 7 months. I think XBLA Worms is done as far as Team17 is concerned.

Haoshiro
14 Feb 2008, 16:46
But what's the big deal here? Why is this being overlooked by Team17 so badly?

Spadge, suggesting we get a refund is not a solution. And it's pretty sad that would even be brought up. 150 points? You really think this is about the money?

You have a released product that a lot of fans can't use, that breaks the game when they try to.

Why is it doing that? If it *IS* working for some people, why not us? What can we do to access that content?

Can we delete all the Worms content from the 360 and then re-download it all to get it to work? Or is it impossible to have all the downloadable content working at this point?

Is this a permanent problem that will never be fixed nor a solution found? The stance right now seems to be "if it doesn't work, sucks to be you, get a refund."

- And that is just pathetic. Surely as a gamer, you realize that. Or do you not play your own games and take pride in them actually working?

Wormetti
15 Feb 2008, 16:22
The Manhattan theme doesn't work for anyone and was quickly removed from Live. If you bought it, get a refund and delete that theme. If you didn't buy the Manhattan theme then you haven't lost anything.

All the other content works fine here.

AryzonaBay
27 Feb 2008, 16:23
Yeah this sucks. Actually bought the Manhattan theme myself and had forgotten all about it, thinking at the time "oh they'll fix it eventually."

Here it is, March 08 and I'm having to jump through hoops with outsourced XBL tech support trying to get my 150 point refund. I'll be amazed if I do get the refund.

Thanks Team 17. Guess this will be a deciding factor as to whether or not I should buy any of your future products on the Xbox 360.

As it stands, I did NOT get a refund for the 150 points. Had to get really nasty with them.

The "supervisor" I talked to said, "may I ask if you purchased the content in July of last year why did you wait until now if you knew there was a problem?"...Hmm...silly me, thought maybe they would've fixed the problem by now and didn't decide to call for a refund until reading the Team17 forums and saw that other people had gotten refunds. "Well, sir, I'm sorry but I cannot give you refunds as we do not give refunds for this type of problem." "THATS A LIE", I told him, and referenced specific posts from this forum. I even explained to him that the content was sold and pulled from the marketplace the same day.
So after putting me on hold further, he told me the issue would be "investigated" and I should call back periodically....

Which means, I'm SOL (as anyone that has dealt with broken DRM from repaired consoles can tell you). Yes, only 150 points. But as someone else said, it's the principle.

Thanks Team 17.
Thanks.

So, roughly how many people here have tried but failed to get a refund of their 150 points spent on the Manhattan theme? I'm a journalist working on a piece about this very problem, so would be interested in hearing any more views/experiences relating to this.

Feel free to post on-forum, or private-message me, if you prefer. I'm interested in all situations where people have struggled to get a refund for points, though specifically in relation to faulty products, like the Manhattan theme.

Fair enough, though at least two posters (imhome24 and AryzonaBay) on this very thread suggest they have *failed* to secure refunds.

Oh, heh. Didn't actually notice that they didn't get refunded, I thought they just said they had to go through a lot of trouble for it.

Of course, it's no secret that Microsoft's customer support is truly atrocious! One forumer here, Squirminator2k (aka: Ben Paddon) tried to get his Xbox Live account transferred because he changed country, and accounts are restrictive to the country they were set as. Instead of getting his wish, he got a lot of grief from Microsoft about it; even to the point where they tried to get him fired from his job as a game reviewer for complaining about it publically!

Yeah in my case I was told to go through the "history downloads" or something like that. There was a very very long list of all the games, pic packs and just all around downloadable content of games that I had purchased since day 1. Of course I got to the Worms part because I had downloaded the desert theme and I believe the voicepack also that early morning. It didnt list the Manhattan theme at all in my downloads. I told the tech it had to be due to the fact that I had to delete it for the reason being that the game kept on freezing up due to the fact that the Manhattan theme had a problem. If I recall correctly I think it was posted on this forum about solving the problem of just deleting the Manhattan theme to get the game functional again. Of course the tech said that if I had downloaded that said file then it should show up on there. Minutes of arguing go by, voices raise, frustration level peaks for only to hang up knowing that it was useless. I figure its a lost battle but would really like to know how many fellow wormburners had done the same thing that morning when waking up only to find that it never worked out. Any success stories besides the one I read with details might help us others out with maybe knowing how to go about talking to these reps for any progression. I wont get my hopes up though.

If anyone here wants to take advantage of this, I'll need your gamertags -- feel free to private-message them to me if you don't wish to make them public.

Wow, I guess I got lucky. Was I the only one who got a refund with no hassle?

I think the key was that my call didn't seem to be outsourced and the person I spoke to had a 360 himself. He simply checked my download history and compared it to what was on the Marketplace at the time. When Undertow was free, he noticed, consulted a bit, and said he would give me that. I then brought up the Worms content, which he noticed wasn't on the Marketplace, he didn't seem to consult anyone, and just took my word for it on the problems.

Maybe he would have been more hesitant and possibly refused me, but he noticed I purchased a lot of DLC and had a 4000+ current point balance at the time, so he trusted me and I did alert him about Undertow being free, which he was going to download himself. It's understandable with an outsourced call they are more strictly following rules due to inexperience with using the console themselves and likely lack of liability.
