"Fatal Error During Gameserver Connection, Disconneting"

Why would this message come up? Happens on WWP and WA.

check your firewall and/or router.

Maybe wormnet was down, or your internet was down.

What am I checking my Firewall Router for?

Your checking to see if your router, firewall and/or your antivirus allows Worms Armageddon to use the internet etc etc.

allow the game through your firewall, an for your router (if you have one) forward 17011/17012 TCP to your internal IP.

What exact numbers should be entered into the configuration screen in the game? What port number should be there? And which IP numbers?

The blind are leading you. The advice franpa and Blitza are giving you will not solve your problem. They seem to think your problem is that you cannot host games. What's worse is that they are giving you incorrect information for a problem you are not experiencing.

(franpa I told you before; wwp uses port 17011 and not 17012 like you keep telling people. Don't give advice to people if you do not fully understand what you are talking about. I do think you've been getting better at helping people. But you really need stop confusing people like this!)

Edit: Sorry, forgot about your problem. I think you may need to apply the appropriate patch to your Worms World Party game if you haven't already done so. Please let me know if this was the solution to your problem. (I am guessing.)

No etho i do not think he cant host games. And i do not think that this is the problem he is trying to solve. Obviously when he tries to connect to wormnet the server doesnt load and then after about 1 or 2 mins he gets an error "Fatal error during gameserver connection, Disconnecting"...

Perhaps I misunderstood your motive. Please explain why you are advising him to: "Your checking to see if your router, firewall and/or your antivirus allows Worms Armageddon to use the internet etc etc.", if WormNet (1 & 2) does not require you to forward any ports to join the server?

ah, i said he has to allow the game through his firewall and followed that with a comma, i may have sucked at english tho -.- i meant the forwarding ports part to be seperate from the firewall part.

Because sometimes anti virus's or routers can block certain programs..

Thanks for all the replies folks. I have run the patch on both. WWP is at V1.01.

I get the error message after literally 1 second, almost as if it isn't trying to connect! I'm very new to all this firewall and port forwarding stuff, as you can probably tell. I've found my IP address for router and PC, and tried to set up rules on the router firewall. I doubt I've done it correctly tho.

What's the next step?

The quickness of the error message means the connection is not timing out, which means something is definitely blocking the game(s) from connecting. It really seems to be some sort of firewall.

My best guess is that you have Windows XP SP2 installed and Windows Firewall has turned itself on. Go into your control panel and check that out.

2nd guess is that you have some anti-virus software installed, such as Norton, and it is blocking the games.

It also could be some other firewall, programs such as Skype, etc. Play around with those things and then let us know the outcome.

Etho you genius!! I knew it wasn't the first two options but then I found a sneaky Symantec Live Update thing in the control panel. Thought I had uninstalled all of that. I went to the ISP tab and selected "Do not manage my dial up connections". Job done.

Cheers all!
