I have never been able to host and now that the new update is available I am wondering how I would go about hosting on a port that I know is open. So does anybody no a port that I can host on, or if there is something eles I have to do to host a game? Please reply! And BTW this UPDATE RULES! Thank you T17!

Tell us about your network configuration. Do you use a router to connect to the Internet?

If you got a router forward port 17011 on TCP and UDP (I'm not sure if you need to on UDP but I did anyway). Then you can host. Oh and if you get it going make sure you get your IP (http://www.whatismyip.com/) every time you host a game and enter it in the config but of the wormnet thing.

99% of people wont need to force there IP even if they have a router joeyjoejoe.

I have the same problem, I've opened the port on my router (as far as I know) and I've also forced my WAN IP in the configuration. I'm able to connect to games, but I'm unable to host.

Someone told me it may be a DNS problem and that I can't really do anything about it, but I refuse to believe that.

My router specifically is "SMC7004ABR"
If anyone has any experience with it, I've opened the port on Virtual Server, and Special Applications.

I've been having problems with all sorts of things involving ports, especially torrents, but recently I was able to get torrents working for a little while (told me the port was open) but then a while later it closed up again and I never was able to get it open again.

If anyone has any information as to why this is happening it would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure you've forwarded the port to your computer's current IP. You can find it out by looking at your connection's properties or typing ipconfig in a command prompt - find the line starting with "IP Address . . ."

If the configuration is correct, you can try hosting a game and using the website http://www.canyouseeme.org/ to check if the port is open. The website will attempt to connect to your external IP (it will autodetect it) and the specified port, to see if someone will "pick up" the connection request. If it fails, then you're not done with your router config - check firewall settings and whatever else may affect incoming connections.

Thank you but I checked to see which of my ports are open only to find out that all 62 of my ports are filtered and none open. Not having the password for forwarding over my network and the admin not having it either :rolleyes:trying to host is useless.

I know how to configure my router, and i know how to do everything with it. It just doesn't end up working =[

O well.
