Could somebody help me host a WA game? I've got a D-Link DSL-G624T and I have forwarded port 17011 but still can't host. What else do I have to do?

I've used this website to check if the port is open while I'm hosting: http://www.canyouseeme.org/

And it says: Error: I could not see your service on 213.40.98.241 on port (17011)
Reason: Connection Timed Out

Well the new update will be out very soon, and it - i think - will allow you to host on any port.

Whereabouts in the west midlands do you reside?

Dudley. ;)

A new patch? I only returned to this game 2 days ago. What perfect timing! :D

When you say you've forwarded it, you've definately forwarded it to your internal IP address haven't you? (The 192.168.x.x number).

FFS! Somebody help me.

I've tryed no-ip.com and still, people can't join. I've forwarded ports 17010 - 17012 TCP/UDP and still, people can't join. I've tried the IP override and still, people can't join.

WHAT THE HELL!

Two small things that might help us find the problem, they're both fairly obvious but sometimes easily overlooked.
Can you join other games?
When you've forced the IP you've used your external address (and checked the box)

The only other idea I have would be to check software firewalls, disable all of them (including Windows) temporarily to see if that changes anything.

I can join other people's games fine and I have forced my external ip as well.

I've disabled my only software firewall, ZoneAlarm, and I still can't host.

Host a game, and use the website http://www.canyouseeme.org/ to check whether your port 17011 is open while you're hosting. If it's not, you've set up forwarding incorrectly; check that you've entered your computer's LAN IP in the "forward to" field of the port forwarding configuration. If it is open, then you just have to set your external IP in W:A's network configuration (don't forget to check "Force I.P."). You can also find your external IP on the above website.
