Good English then. :)

What version of the game do you have?

I think it could help you:

Do you get a Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime library error?
Right click your frontend.exe, check its properties, look at the version tab, it should say either 1.0.1.7 or 1.0.1.5, if it doesnt, get the patch from http://w2.team17.com
If the version is correct, make sure you are running the game from its root directory (not using any shortcuts) and running frontend.exe, not worms2.exe.

(If you want to read the entire topic, use this link: http://forum.team17.co.uk/showthread.php?t=23968 )

Greetings :)

- 3.1 Visual C++ Runtime error
This is a known problem that occurs within your Windows registry. To fix the problem, it requires a re-install of Worms 2. Uninstall your existing version of Worms 2 (this option is available in the Worms2 program group) and then recommence the installation procedure. Please ensure that there are no spaces within the text of your custom named destination directory. For example during the installation procedure if you previously named the directory 'C:\Worms 2' then change to 'C:\Worms2' instead.

I can't do that because;
1. You have not told us your system specifications.
2. You have not told us what exactly happens when you try to install it.

Please, people, if you want help, tell us all the details!

What kind of system specifications do you need??

but my big doubt is to know if the game really runs in Windows Xp

Graphics card mainly. It does work in XP.
Oh, and is it 64-bit (your computer, you'll probably know if it is)?
Is it a legal copy?
Oh, and what he said, what exactly happens when you try to install it?

well I'm working with 32 bits (yes, it sucks)

When I start the installation appears a box with the next message (I have my windows in spanish so excuse me if there are problems with the translation):

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG.NT. The system's file is not apropiated to execute MS-DOS and Windows aplications. Choose "Close" to finisht this aplication.

Also says "omit" bur nothing happens...
I hope there another way to solve this problem...is a great game but so complicated in this kind of systems :(

I solved the problem!!!!! I just searched the file "config.nt" that rarely was in another folder...so I copied this file and finally pasted in the folder System32...and....done!!! I realized that is possible play Worms 2 in XP:D!!

I hope it could be really useful for new users, like me :p
I apreciated your attention guys...good luck!;)

There is a problem very similar to that which is a lot more common, but with a different file. Again, the fix is the same.

Why was CyberShadow not named a pirate for helping someone in this (http://forum.team17.co.uk/showthread.php?p=601623) thread who was in the same position as chrobar, when his topic was locked? Just curious.

The guy wasn't a pirate, he just removed the CD during play. We didn't have enough evidence of him being a pirate, whereas this guy just openly said so.

I didn't buy this CD, my brother copied it from his "legal" CD

I'm not sure if making a backup copy of the game for personal use is legal, but that's what I do with most of my games.

They both say they copied it from their one legal purchase per household. So what's the difference?

Also, Muzer aside, Chrobars topic was locked with the message from a mod:
We cannot provide tech support to people who are using pirated/copies of a Team17 game. Whereas Nightfire was helped. Is there an inconsistency, or have I got something wrong?
I suppose I'll understand if this topic is locked for my little rant, but i'm confused, and don't like being accused.
