So I put the disc in, it loads up setup but does it install? NO!

Lies! My compute definitely has enough memory to install and run this game.

I'm using an AMD 4200+, 1GB DDR2 and an X1900GT. This version of the game is the SoldOut one and I have tried unwain.exe but get this problem...

Can not read from file, error code 23

:(

My guess: your CD is broken.

I'd say try making a copy of your cd and see if that helps anything.

It seems that the disc is too scratched to be copied. Looks like I'm going to have to be without WA. :(

Just buy another one. £5.99 off https://secure.team17.com and less of ebay

Erm...nothing on that list is related to my problem.

I guess he referes to THIS list, actually.

I was referring to these two FAQ entries:
R2. "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose "Close" to terminate the application."
In your Start Menu click "Run...", type "cmd" and click OK. In the black prompt box that pops up, type:
copy c:\windows\repair\autoexec.nt c:\windows\system32
If this doesn't work, you can perform the same task manually. Navigate to
c:\windows\repair\
and copy the file "autoexec.nt" to your clipboard. Then navigate to
c:\windows\system32
and paste the file there.
R3. "C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose "Close" to terminate the application."
In your Start Menu click "Run...", type "cmd" and click OK. In the black prompt box that pops up, type:
copy c:\winnt\repair\autoexec.nt c:\winnt\system32
If this doesn't work, you can perform the same task manually. Navigate to
c:\winnt\repair\
and copy the file "autoexec.nt" to your clipboard. Then navigate to
c:\winnt\system32
and paste the file there.

Both are completely unrelated in this case.

Try installing it on a different computer with the same disc. If you get the same error, then MadEwokHerd is probably right
