5 times this weekend just when I was about to win my opponent quit out, making it a void game, surely the person who quits out should automatically lose , hence stopping this cheating.
also last night, 3 people in a lobby, then when the game starts , the 3rd person has quit, so there is 2 of us in the game. no problem there , I win after a long hard battle, but it seems the game also counts as void because 1person dropped out, but he wasnt even playing at any point ! maddness.

this seems to happen, if one player quits the game is void, even if 3 players continue.

all this quitting is making a mockery of the ranking system

worms is a great game, really great , but this is getting out of control , and very annoying. is someone quits, it should count as a loss , no if's. simple

Perhaps this happened to me once... usually if the host wins I get a "win" on my record, but the last I played the host missed a kamikazi and had only one worm left, then the game ended (assuming he quit).

At that point my stats showed a loss... even though the game had dropped.

Happens far too often - killing the enjoyment for me a bit. T17 need to find a way to punish hosts who quit early (automatic loss of 100 ranking places or such like).

Is it that if a game ends early the person with the most kills is credited as winning??? Whatever the system used its too simplistic - I'd prefer it if the game was declared null and void... nothing worse than losing ranking because some idiot decides to run away when he's outclassed.

again last night, 1 game , 4 players, player in fourth quit out , fair enough , he wasn't host I was, 3 of us play on , I win finally , game doesn't exist on my stats, I presume because one of the players quit out. what's that all about ? Total waste of time.

So you didn't have fun while playing the game?

So you didn't have fun while playing the game?

'Fun' is a holistic concept - yes playing the game is fun, but it leaves a bad taste if the experience is marred by an unsatisfactory conclusion. I don't mean losing, the risk of which is part of the experience, I mean losing ranking for invalid reasons.

If 100% of the fun we derived from the game was in playing it we'd stick with player matches... those of us who play ranked games do so because our ranking is part of the fun to us. I suspect you probably know this and are being deliberately provocative though?

I know that, but saying it was a total waste of time sounds like ranking is all the fun and the games are just a mean to get ranking.

They're criticising the ranking system, though, not the game itself. And from a distant and uninterested point of view, I absolutely agree.

Not to mention the way TruSkill works even when it isn't being manipulated is pathetic. I mean weren't the top two people tied on 33 with everyone else on 32 at the end of the pre-patch period? Way to waste everyone's time, especially the time of those who came up with the hyper mathematical formula for it and those who actually took their time to understand it.

Yeah I get that, my reply was directed at dwav. He had a 3 player game and won, but was a total waste of time because it wasn't recorded in the ranking. Which I think is a silly remark unless he really doesn't enjoy playing the game.
I understand how it can be slightly annoying when it's not reflected in your ranking, but I don't think it's bad enough for you to say it was a total waste of time.

its not really enjoyable knowing you could be cheated out of a win at any time.
waste of time ?, in a rankings way yes totally

are the rankings a waste of time ? I am starting to believe they are yes.

It's not always quitting early though.

My xbox has frozen mid match before aswell as losing internet connection mid way through a game.

It happens, you can't tar everybody with the same brush. But that's why i always host games these days, even if i'm the first out I will keep it running until the other 3 teams have played. That's what really ****es me off, when the host loses early and thus quits.
