i have been waitiong for a new Worms - game that is 2D like the old school ones.. i have tried the demos for worms 3D and 4 but sadly i think the 3D ruined the extreme fun i used to have with my friends, melting their faces with a Concrete donkey.

i saw the new game getting released soon for NDS and XBOX, is there going to be a 2D one out sometime?

For the PC? Hard to say. Spadge has occasionally dropped hints that they might return to 2D at some point in the future, and I added [this entry (http://www.dream17.co.uk/softography.php?id=95)] to Dream17's Softography+ some time ago in the hopes that it will one day happen. But with Worms Armageddon still available, still doing well at retail, still being supported (albeit in beta updates), and still seeing an active online community, it's unlikely. But then, the same can be said of StarCraft, and look what happened there.

Don't expect a definite answer from the Teamsters, though. They're very tight-lipped about future games in the series.

Currently, there are three new(ish) 2D worms games: one for PSP, one for DS, and one for XBLA. Currently, we know that another one for PSP and DS will be released soon.
But no news on a new worms PC game yet.

Your best bet is to buy a copy of Worms Armageddon, which still has a fairly large communtiy of players and is also still being regularly updated. Online-Worms isn't Team17 game so ppl here can't help. But I try to download and play it, I don't know japanese though.

Woodoo, you can't do what you're asking. If you want a recommendation buy Worms Armageddon from team17's website, it has a very populated server, you can make your own schemes (rules of the game) and maps (even color maps).

And it's very very cheap.

This isn't actually the case, to be honest. There's a tiny (very tiny) trickle of income to T17 for this title, given it's an 8-year old title at retail and sold for pence/cents these days (and it was released at mid-price when it was launched!).

Hey, Bloopy's back. Unless he was always here, and never had I just checked. Aaanyways, speaking of the store, keep selling the Worm games. I'm planning on buying all of the 2d ones for sale so that I have the original version for each game. Cuz I only got W2 and WA and Wa's sold out software.
