WinRAR may be free like beer, but 7-Zip is also free like speech (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_software).
And, of course, no nag screens.

you get wrong numbers because of hidden Thumbs.db files

Ah of course. Thank you.

I've got a Giant RR map. Once BTP manages 2 load it up I'll give u the link 2 it.
Oh, and it's only the Foldered Version that doesn't work. The Unsorted Version is fine.

Please refrain from plagiarising my maps.

I personally use Izarc for any zip, rar or other type of files and its free, just google Izarc and download it, saves any messing about & works great :D

Here's the one I made tonight. It looks pretty good, but I stuck with traditional level dimensions, as what I had planned didn't work out. It sucks that you can't make island levels that end at the edges, or at least cavern levels where the edges of the image define the boundaries of the level. Or can you do one of those things somehow?

Not sure if metadata will be preserved on imageshack. If not, I just used beach theme, indestructible border on, and a very low (but nonzero) water level.

Edit: Oh yeah, I also messed with KRD's long-range BnG level from the first page of this thread, just to see if I could. :)

I fixed the texture where the two maps were made to meet (it took a LONG time) and cleaned up some areas where black found itself in places where it shouldn't have been.

Woah, that's Hokusai's Great Wave. I approve. :)

Nice work with the texture on that double size fruity random. I decided getting it right was too much work back then since I insist on using a new map for each game I play, but seeing as I only ended up slapping two together in the end... I think I might try getting the texture on the other one to match myself next time I'm in a Worms mood as well as a Photoshop mood.

or at least cavern levels where the edges of the image define the boundaries of the level.

With caverns, the edges of the image do define the boundaries of the level. Also, I guess you could effectively take an island map and give it a really high cavern roof, so it would be like playing an island map with boundaries on the edge of the map.

Wow thank yo for these great maps :)
But are there any "smaller" maps? I mean, lets say, 100% bigger then the biggest Worms Armageddon maps? :D

These maps here are incredibly big....

If it helps, this is how I do it:

1- get the map
http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/5311/step1qj5.th.png (http://img299.imageshack.us/my.php?image=step1qj5.png)

2- Using gimp filling tool you can turn similar colours into the colour you want. The bigger the difference between the floor and the soil the easier this step will be
http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/8581/step2hp0.th.png (http://img291.imageshack.us/my.php?image=step2hp0.png)

3- Get the sprites of the soil you want from (I don't remember where, CS gave me a link with all the worms sprites) and build the soil.
http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/5900/step3fa7.th.png (http://img291.imageshack.us/my.php?image=step3fa7.png)

4- Using paint copy and paste with the transparent colour utility. I bet you can do that with gimp too, but I don't know how since with the colour-to-aplha tool what happens is that all the pixels turn a bit transparent if they have in part the colour you selected. If anybody knows how to turn only the pixels with the selected colour transparent please say, because in the way I know if you choose black to alpha, grey pixels will be translucid for exmaple.
http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/9980/step4vv3.th.png (http://img299.imageshack.us/my.php?image=step4vv3.png)

And there you have changed the soil in quite a short time, depending on the theme you started with. I hope it helps.

Also: before you start to work turn all the images into RGB mode to avoid colour loss, only after you've finished the map you can reduce the colours.

Sorry to bring this back but how did you get the image of your level like that? I want to make some of the ones i've made in game 200% bigger.

Thanks

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that image is identical to the one on the cover of a John Mayer album, no?

It's a famous painting, "The Wave", isn't it?

KRD

The Great Wave off Kanagawa (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Great_Wave_off_Kanagawa) by Katsushika Hokusai (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hokusai), to be precise.

It's spectacular and deserves an uncut version now that large maps are possible.

That's a good idea. A full size one would be magnificent!

I beat that Maze RR at long last, took 1 hour 20~ minutes. attached file is in 7z file format, it is the game replay.

I've played it numerous times over the past months, when the large map pack was fairly new, never used a paint program or printed the map to work it out outside the game.

Here's one i made: http://uploading.com/files/PXQLXNT6/Blimp%20Battle.rar.html
It is a massive level, with some blimps and bi-planes flying around. It is only in BW and I made it in paint. The custom scheme included is intermediate with a twist to give a true hindenburg like experience :)
Also only one win equired since it can take a LONG time to play, especialy with 48 worms.

I'm quite surprised that this is still going.
