View Full Version : List of Bugs

I thought I'd start a thread where people can just come in and jot down bugs they've encountered. Hopefully no one posts discussions and whatnot but rather just keep it to a list type post. Some of the stuff may not even be a glitch as I never played some of the other Worms titles so I don't know what is normal and what isn't.

1.) Rope Bug: dropping multiple weapons by shooting out multiple ropes. everyone already knows this one.
2.) Worm on Mine: at the start of ranked games worms are placed on top of mines.
3.) Super Firepunch: if you hit jump and firepunch at the same time you go almost twice as high.
4.) Player Mine: If i hit Y i get to set the fuse time on my mines yet it always ends up being the same. 1 second/5 second, they still detonate at the same time.
5. Backup flip fire: doesn't really affect gameplay but are you supposed to be able to backflip while firing the bazooka or tossing the grenade?
6.) Prod: is it working right? sometimes the worm will go flying a good 3cm with this at other times the worm who is on the ledge won't even move.

Okay that's all I can think of right now.

Pretty much all this stuff is fixed in the update, which should go live next week.

Using firepunch while you are in the air is a feature and has been in previous worms games. I haven't tried pushing them at exactly the same time though, I normally jump and at the highest point, I use the firepunch. In previous worm games, you haven't been able to set the mine fuse time (during the game), so not supporting this is not a bug but it probably shouldn't allow you to set the fuse.
bug: Fly into the water with jetpack active and the jetpack sound will stay on.

7.)Girder Teleportation Just ran into this bug a few days ago. You can put down a girder and "teleport" your worm at the same time. Big time glitch. I want to put down how it's done but that'd probably be a bad idea right?

It's probably very useful information if you can reproduce it. PM someone, if you'd rather the masses not know.

Done. I messaged Spadge about it. Too bad this bug probably wasn't caught in this update...and it's obvious that updates on 360 take ages to come out. On the PC where the developers have more autonomy it'd probably be addressed within a month.

I'll check in the office about this one - a lot of the opportunities for stuff like this have been tightened up, but this seems pretty quirky.

I can find nothing about this bug/cheat on this forum, so here is my problem: when i'm playng a ranked match it was happened that my opponent (always the host) do a bad move and lose his turn, so before my turn appears the write: waiting for others opponent, like many others time with the crappy p2p live, but this time it stay on the monitor for a lot of seconds, i was think that the game freezed, but finally my turn arrives, the bad thing: my opponent do another move during my waiting and his life was restored!! This thing was to me 3/4 times now (the last one 2 days ago and the cheeter was this user: http://live.xbox.com/en-US/profile/profile.aspx?pp=0&GamerTag=Blinded+Legacy ) One times happened that the cheater during this bug put on the stage a BLACK girder. That's a very strange thing, i've reported all this users to microsoft, but i think that this bug is growing and it isn't solved during the last update.

That could just be network sync errors. You might be losing some packets somewhere, and the game is trying to recover... so you think you are seeing what the enemy did, but it is inaccurate.

Then, when the game corrects itself your system resets the game to how it should have been.

So yeah, you might have just been out of sync with the players, and when this was corrected the results were confusing.

Last night I was playing a ranked match which ended in a draw. In the rematch, the host left (causing "game session no longer available" message) and it seemed to go down as a loss when I checked the leaderboards.

Anyone else seen this?

Airstrike - when you put the airstrike target under the screen is the airstrike supposed to just appear in the middle of the screen? while highly useful for sudden death when worms are burrowed in i find it a bit cheesy...shouldn't the airstrike always come from the air no matter where you target?

I saw this happen to me twice both different circumstances and players. The guy would screw up and the game would revert back to before his turn. i need to pay more attention the next time it happens.

I read about the airstrike bug in this thread but had yet to try it and then someone used it against me to kill my worm in a tunnel and won the game. Perhaps it should be called "thin airstrike" since it appears from no where instead of falling from the sky.

Once in a 4 player game, a player picked up a utility and it said "Teleport". Normally it doesn't say what your opponents pickup.

Mines still start on slopes and fall on players at the start of the game.

Worms can be stuck in a postion where they keep making the ouch sound until someone knocks them down. This is kind of funny, makes everyone want to kill the worm making the annoying sounds.

Not actually bugs but is it really necessary to display "This game is full" and other unimportant messages and then stop the search. If it's full or can't be joined then it should just search again. I know these messages would have been useful when testing but it doesn't help the end user at all.

I agree. I often get a message that says I can't join a game because of my network settings, probably because I have NAT: Moderate. I wish the game would just automatically search a game that I can join. There also seems to be some bug that causes the search to fail the first time after playing a game where the host quit.

Of course, if it is having connection issues, then what you see will be essentially a random move, so it's pretty unlikely it'll be a good one. There are many, many more rubbish ones to pick from.

So just because it only happens after apparent host screwups doesn't really prove anything.

I like it!!! Thin-Airstrike Bug will be the new official name for this bug then.

Well it seems more and more people are using the thin airstrike...can someone from team17 comment on whether this is in fact a bug? or is it just something that is meant to be in the game like the rope tricks?

The thing with you seeing someone make a bad move and then the game lags, then the screen changes and you see the result of a good move... I believe this is just due to lag.

A developer would have to confirm, but I think that what happens is that your game and the opponent's game get out of sync, and since he's not actually sending you all the video data of what he's doing, just the underlying worm movement data, there's the possibility that you miss a bit of data, then you see something that's not really happening.

For example, I walk 5 worm feet to my right, backflip up to a ledge, walk 5 more worm feet, and drop a dynamite off another ledge onto some worms. Now, imagine that you never received the data of me walking 5 feet to the right the first time. Now, you just watch me backflip for no apparent reason, walk over to a wall, drop a dynamite and blow myself up.

At the end of the turn, our games resynchronize -- this is what causes the long bit of lag. Then voila you see a different result on the screen.
