Hi guys!

Recently found my original worms armageddon cd and remembered what an awesome game it was, so naturally had to install it and re-play it!

I have an Advent 6480 laptop
Original Worms armageddon CD-not scratched
Have installed the WA v3.6.26.5 update!
Have used the /nointro command in my shortcut target box
DirectX v9.0c installed
32mb onboard graphics memory

But everytime i try to play it i get an error message saying "worms armageddon has encountered a problem and needs to close"

the details of it are -

any ideas? ive tried installing previous patches, tried about everything i can think of :O

Out of curiosity, when does this error come up? I use to have Worms crash on me every time I started a game with a Simpsons soundbank, change the team with that soundbank and it worked fine.

For a fresh install I don't think that would be the problem, but it may be use to anyone who reads this.

For this problem I would suggest making sure you have installed and patched the game correctly, uninstall the game totally, reinstall it from the CD but instead of patching it, run this: http://forum.team17.co.uk/showthread.php?t=31140, that will ensure it's patched correctly.

Let us know if that doesn't help.

My advice is mostly directed at both people, either clear the user folder or reinstall from the CD and then use CyberShadow's auto updater.

ah, my fault is hardware related, i am looking into warranty with my computer components and hopefully getting them replaced.

cheers for the advice! I will try the update! but being on a navy base my only access to the internet is very limited! i.e. only sites like here and hotmail, no downloading, so ill have to wait till the weekend but will let you know how i get on! :)
