I can load the game fine but whenever I try to start a game it shows the "boom" graphic then the sound stutters then it throws me out and generates a windows error message.

I am on XP with an Athlon 64 3200+, 1gb ram, ati 9800PRO 128mb AGP graphics.

Any ideas?

Did you use the No-crack warezs or false WWP CD-ROM a.k.a using DAEMON tools as Virtual CD-ROM drive that has WWP content that might the problem though :)

Yes, I bought it from ebay. Was only a fiver. I really hope that this is legal enough for you K.Wormy!!!!

1) have you downloaded the service pack from http://wwp.team17.com correct for your disc?
2) Is your disc sold out software (greeny blue with sold out software written on it).

Have you altered any sounds?

I just bought WWP and have a similar problem. If I set the resolution higher than 640x480 then I get a black screen for the game. I can hear the game running but can't see ****.
It was a budget version by Sold-Out Software. I installed the service pack but the version number is still 1.01. What version number should I see after installing the service pack?
I'm running the game on an ASUS notebook with Intel 945GM VGA. I had no probs running WA though.

UPDATE: If I set the exe propesties to run in 256 color mode and Windows 98 compatibility mode, then I can see the game in 1024x768, but the picture is really dodgy. Black background, false graphics, etc.. :confused:

Close most other programs that are running, especially ones with the "always on top" feature, such as ObjectDock or even MSN.

It sounds like some programs are "stealing" the colour palette from WWP.

I am on XP with an Intel Core 2 Duo 6320, 2 GB ram, NVIDIA Geforce 8800 GTS with 320 MB Ram graphics. I have nearly the same problem. I have downloaded the 60 minutes test version of Worms World Party and can start it without problems. But when I want to start a game the screen gets at first dark, then for a second white and then dark again. I tried everything which is written in here. I closed all additional programs and I set the exe propesties to run in 256 color mode and Windows 98 compatibility mode. But the problem ist still there. Can anyone help?
