Why is it that I can't turn off the sound?

I've gone to the option screen and checked off sound. Am I missing something?

Is it possible to have no sounds while playing?

when in a game push escape and turn volume down to 0%

I need the sound for other functions.

I was told to get this version of the game because it gives you the option to mute sounds.

Yeah....by pressing escape whilst in a game and then dragging the sound bar to 0...

Make sure you have the latest beta patch also.

Ok, you missed the last post.

I can't turn down the volume on the computer as I need to have sound for other programs.

No...what we both said has nothing to do with the PC's overall volume. Just do what it says.

when I press escape, I am only given two options: Minimize game, quit game.

Nothing with volume.

Then you don't have the latest beta patch, 3.6.26.5. Download it from Team17's website.

I think I have the trymedia version (since the patch just causes problems, i.e. can't start WA)

Am I SOL?

The TryMedia version cannot be patched. Try to get a refund and buy the CHEAPER, PATCHABLE CD version (directly from Team17 is the cheapest I believe).

Trymedia version is not patchable. No further details needed.

he may have the original version and need to apply the v3.0.0 patch prior to the beta update else you get missing file errors.
