View Full Version : WA & WWP menu lag

Hi all,
I installed Worms on a new notebook yesterday and both lag at their menus (meaning every interface not being the game itself).
It just seems like all dialog elements (buttons, etc) get refreshed constantly with full processor speed as they become white-bordered for some milliseconds over and over (if you look properly).
Using a nVidia Geforce Go 7600 Card I've installed several Forceware drivers from 7x up to 9x, sticking to the 93.71 one at the moment. None solved the problem though. I also disabled the sound drivers, because I've read it could cause those problem too, but it had nor effect either.

Has this problem ever been solved in the past? And if yes how?
(Some Computer specs: Intel core 2 duo 7200, nVidia Geforce Go 7600, Win XP Pro)

TIA for help,
Hawk

for worms armageddon, if you update to the latest beta version you will find several *.reg files in the games directory... one of these is called SlowFrontendWorkaround_On.reg, you should execute and add this.

For WWP, the only thing that'll probably fix it is to revert to forceware 63.99 or something (below 7x.xx), which you probably don't want to.

I'd say stick with the beta updated WA, as it has some great features now anyway.

Thanks for the fast answers!

As for W:A, it's the only reg file I didn't execute because I just don't know what it does (well now I know).
The game runs fluently now :D
It was the only reason not to make the notebook my desktop machine.

And about WWP... My desktop computer ran with a 6x driver for like 2 years so if there are no compatibility problems I'll use such an old one if it solves my WWP problem.

Thanks again :)
