I was just thinking of this as a bad idea, but then resolved my thought.

What if instead of randomly entering numbers in for the map, Team17 could add a map builder. We could pick if there were roofs or not, where the mines and stuff were, where the igloos, cars, flag poles, etc. were located, then the map generator gives us a code for the map we made.

I think it sounds like a good idea. We wouldn't even have to be able to save the code on our hard drive. I would be happy writing it down, get familiar with the map, then own people at ranked matches.

Please don't flame, it was just a creative idea.

It would work except:
1: Map codes don't work like that. They form maps in big blocks, and the extra stuff (igloos and such) are stuck with the land in them.
2: Mines and barrels are placed randomly at the start of each match. The map code doesn't affect them.

Oh. I kinda noticed that when ever you make a game, the igloos and stuff almost always are in the same place.

And another thing. Did any one crack what the code means yet? Like what it means to put 00000000 or the letters or anything? I want to figure out my self what each letter and number means in each space of the code.

the code is just a seed for the random number generator. it is not, for all purposes, reversible. that is, you can't just think up a map and come up with a code for it.

Good luck trying! But I don't think anybody's been able to crack the random terrain code for any of the previous worms games!

Every different number brings about the same landscape, terrain type, object quantity, selection and placement and mine and oil drum placement.

I wrote down a code loved becase i was in perfect position BUT when i entered this code several times, my worms were always in a different spot

The number of teams and order of play also determines whose worms go where.

Don't think so, i did this twice with 4 players and i was red both times and My Full Monty (my team name) was randomly in different places.:o

It's good if it works that way. ;) Otherwise you would only play maps which are giving you an advantage.

They could always make a map builder and then sell it, the map would be saved on the creators HDD or memory card and then loaded to the other players sytems like normal maps are.
