View Full Version : Major Problems Running on XP

I've had Armageddon for several years now. I used to play it a lot on my sister's computer when she was running W98 on it. Now, I've been trying to run it on my system which runs XP but it seems to run extremely slow during the menu screens. Actual gameplay is the same speed but menus are slow.

I've also had problems using a new cordless mouse that I got a few months back. For some reason, it will acknowledge the mouse in the menus, but when the game actually starts it's not even showing. If I do anything with it at that point, my game crashes and gives me that "error report" message.

I've downloaded and tried to run the latest patch but my ZoneAlarm keeps giving me the Allow/Deny message everytime I try to run it and it won't go any farther than that.

Can anyone help me with this. I've been wanting to get back into W:A for some time now, but with these annoying problems it's become almost impossible.

Your problem should be fixed if you've installed the latest update.
As for the Zone Alarm problem, open ZA, go to program control and add WA manually, give it access to everything and ZA shouldn't cause more trouble.

Thanks. I found a FAQ in another post that showed me what I was doing wrong. I've finally fixed the problem and it's working great now.

Hey man, can you post which FAQ you found? I'm having the same problem with the menus ( very slow ). Thanks!

If you got slow menues, install 3.6.28.0 (if you haven't already) and if you still got the problem go to a folder called Tweaks in your WA directory and add the SlowFrontendWorkaroundOn.reg to the registry.
