Okay. I know many of my friends are already wondering about this, and I'm sure many people on this forum are too. I've read the thread mentioning the updates that are going to be released mentioning more voice packs and such, but... would it be possible for them to add in more weapons? One of my favorite things about the previous worms titles (mainly Armageddon) was the large array of weapons at your disposal. Hopefully it wouldn't be incredibly difficult for them to add more weapons, because I know for a fact that that would improve the game IMMENSELY!

Team17 have specifically said that they are not going to be adding in more weapons!

And even if they were to change their minds, it would be too hard to do that now!

They will only add themes for maps, speach and stuff like graves. I dunno if they will add custom made maps, but not weapons...

they will be patching for the network problem. this means that they will release an updated binary. in theory, they can add extra weapons or even ability to add extra weapons via dlc with the patch. there is no way in hell this will happen, so don't go hoping for it, but the opening to do that is there.

In theory, yes. But it would require editing a hellofalot of the game to do so!

depends on how it's done. there are ways to do it so that it would require very little editing to just add new weapons, and i hope that t17's coders new well enough to put it together that way. to allow them as dlc, though, yeah, it would take quite a bit of work.

Not necessarily. The most efficient way to code a game like Worms would be to keep things like the weapons fairly modular.

they don't want add new weapons, if that had had to be done that it would be already.
I approve the opinion of phoenix96.

It is very disappointing to see whether little quality control on behalf of team17 (since the development of this worms was sub-contracted) .

if they could add some weapons (of which napalm!!!), some major tools (like gravity, parachute) to put bonus in the cases (damage x2, speed), to eliminate this blasted focus which make that the camera always returns on the worms whereas it y' has a button for this (then we move the screen in zoom mode off and when we shot, the camera comeback to the active WORM??? it is ridiculous...)and to correct this physics so different from the other worms versions....

(the gauge of shooting is lamentable in zoom mode ! it is almost a sphere!! thank you the precision) !!!!

very very disappointed :(

I'm sure one of the staff said that if they fixed this bug it would need to go through certification again, so it would be difficult. If anyone can prove me wrong please do!

So why exactly wasn't the parachute among the default weapons this time?

I can understand the non essential ones being left out but why did the parachute get axed?

they would have to go through certification again, and that's what's going to happen. but that's exactly why there is an opening. there is no way they'd drag the game through certification to add weapons, but if they are going to have to do certification all over anyways, to fix the net bug, modifications could be made. again, just in theory.

Team 17 said they would not be adding weapons, however, it would not be too hard to change there minds, and make people download an automatic patch... if it was free content, it wouldn't be too hard.

What are you referring to? Either you're quoting the wrong person or else you're misusing the term "bug".

No it wasn't. It was made in-house.
