Enjoying the game as much as i'd hoped i would...almost.

The problem i have is with the mines, they are almost a non entity now with the timers on them always set to 5 seconds or dud you can traverse loads of them without any fear of hurting yourself.

On previous worms games, i can remember that the mines fuse length was random (as well as the odd dud)so some would take a while whereas some would go off instantly. this made them a lot more interesting and fun, instead of what its like now where people run over 4 mines to get to a crate without any worries at all.

Is there any chance this random time could be put back in or given as an option on the planned DLC/patch?

p.s. this is on ground mines not the ones you plant, which are like they always were.

And when they do go off, their area of damage is so limited that you practically have to be standing right on top of them to actually be hurt.

I think the mines as they are right now are good for beginner gametypes, but I agree with the OP, mines need a little more teeth, especially in ranked play.

Its hard to explain but the mines just dont seem very dangerous, i can remember from my old worm days that a crate near a mine would be pretty much left alone for fear of loosing a turn and taking damage, but now a crate could be surrounded by mines and you'd still go for itcause you know as long as your in and out within 4 seconds your fine.

This is the only problem i have with the game to be honest, guess i'm lucky but played many 4 player games with friends with no problems and the smaller weapon set doesnt bother me half as much as it seems to bother others.

Are the mines shootable with the shotgun in this version? I seem to remember in some of the other 2D Worms games, it was possible to shoot mines around on the landscape and into other worms. That was fun. :P

I think I tried it on an online match the other night and the shotgun seemed to just "ignore" the mine.

Mines don't really bounce like they used to, sometimes they roll on the spot. You can make your opponents land on mines and some players still fail to get away in time after setting one off, so they can help you win a game. You can dodge a mine explosion by doing a backflip at the right time, it's a fun move.

No, don't work. tried it many times, it didn't work. I am worried too about this :(

Just another one of the many limits on strategic options put on this version of Worms. :(

Well I hope they can add it in a patch so the mines are affected by the shotguns. :)
