okay, a classic game, a must download.

got it this morning, played a while off line and liked it a lot, I then went live....

28 games later and it sums up thus...

settings at Player Match (any).

after selecting the host I wanted to join in with, I was told on 17 occasions words along the lines of "Worms server not available" or "Game Session no longer available".

of the 11 games I did join, 2 sessions ended while playing due to the host leaving and 2 had players drop out.

so, of the 28 tried, I managed a whooping grand total of 9 playable games.

to round up, Worms is a great game badly let down (for me) by Live. I'd have thought after all this time they would be able to get a game like Worms to work straight off.

in comparison, my other game of the moment is Crackdown, a some what bigger game altogether and yet co-op has not let me down once. also, the likes of Gears of War, Burnout Revenge, Battlefield, Ghost Recon etc can be played for hours on end and suffer very few if any problems apart from maybe Battlefied a few times.

sadly for me, the 6 times i did get to play were so good, i'll have to suffer :( finding further games, as Worms is that good

This happens when the host has either started the game already or quit. Its a MS Live standard message. I agree its not very elegant or clear, but it's not a bug either.

I hope this issue becomes less common soon, since right now thousands of people are trying to join a few host's games and only 3 can succeed in any game.

Those other games you listed are served, not hosted, except Battlefied (I think).

I'm glad you're really enjoying the games that you are managing to connect to.

Yep same problems as you. Pretty much any game forum you go to right now people are saying the same thing. But I will say the game rocks when you can get it started.

The problem is it's very diffucult to get the game started. Its even worse for the people hosting because every single time you see the message the server is no longer avaliable thats because some poor host's 360 just froze and he has to restart it every time. I don't even attempt to host anymore.

Oh no its a bug. I've hosted or tried to host 7 matches and froze up in 5 of them when launching the game. Everyone else in game is complaining about the same thing. Host freezes and everyone else left in the server gets disconnected

Yes, what we're seeing isn't simply a case of a game already having started. We're getting LOCKUPS so severe that the 360 has to be restarted. I'd wager 90 percent of the games I either attempted to host or to join have resulted in 360 lockup issues. And this is being echoed by many many people on various gaming forums. This is terrible.

I didnt mean to sound like I was dismissing this problem. It is being investigated.

This also happens on Ghost Recon. It's not a bug. This game is good.

Well thanks brother. I'm not trying to bash the game or tell anyone not to buy it. I love the game. Its just has some problems that need to be fixed. This reminds me of exactly the same problem Chrome Hounds had when that game launched. The problem was if one person had a strict or Moderate Nat the whole server crashed or certain players couldn't join a server.

I'm not saying thats it for sure, but I sure get the feeling it is and it would explain why some matches start up just fine and others lock up the host and crash the server. Games that start just fine might have everyone in the server with open NAT"S, lockup's might have one person out of the 4 with a strict NAT.

Not to bash your statement here, but if its not a bug then please do explain why I've locked up in 5 out 7 matches I've tried to host? I mean I have 1.5 MB upload speed and I host matches in every single game I own and don't lock up.

Hang on, there are two different things going on here.

This session is no longer available. This not a bug. This is the Microsoft standard message when the host stops hosting, the host starts the game, the game lobby is full or you cannot contact the host.

The lock-up in the lobby. This is a bug. We don't know what's causing it but, as Luther has pointed out, it is being investigated.

Also, there have also been several hundreds of Live games completed (as of a few hours ago) so it would seem to be quite rare across all consoles, but quite persistent on a given console.

The only problem I saw on live was that in a Match the names of my worms turned into Worm 11 , worm 12 ect.
I've played about 4 or 5 games online and that was the problem I discribed was online at 1 match.

Btw, a cool thing I noticed was that the clock of the Big Ben gives the right time :P

It took me about 5 or 6 tries to finally get into a Player Match that worked. When I finally did, I won the round in Sudden Death, then hit Continue on the score screen. The game then stayed there with a "Waiting for other players" message for about 10 minutes. I eventually had to just quit. If there are multiple rounds in a game, shouldn't there be a timer to compel players to continue to the next round instead of just sitting on the score screen forever? Or if the game was only one round, then it shouldn't have let me try to continue at all.
I've also noticed some stuttering with the sound and the music starting and stopping- Not sure if the music is a bug though.

And with the barrels- Are they Supposed to just explode instead of starting fires like they do in the other Worms games? Probably not a bug, but it did make me sad when I discovered that.

Not trying to bash the game, I love Worms, but after all this wait, it does seem like some of that should be fixed.

Both these problems are well known and are addressed in this sticky thread (http://forum.team17.co.uk/showthread.php?t=31917).

I am pretty sure this has to do with people's NAT settings. In any game, when someone has anything but open NAT settings, you get these type of problems. People's need to adjust their stuff before breaking everyone else's online.
