Hi there,

I love to play Roper on "Worms Armageddon" for PC. Is there a chance to get the Roper/Shopper-Mod in the XBLA-Version too? Because thats my most loved Mod :)
And more maps and so on. It would be good if there would be a platform like on the PC to download more stuff from users for users

Sorry for bad english ^^

I don't even know why they even put the rope in there..it's useless...

At the risk of sounding negative, the rope is - plainly put - **** biscuits.

Nice one on the rest of it though*, needs some tweaking and all will then be golden. It'll get tweaked, right? If not, letting the doddering spainish grandmother you found wandering outside Tescos with a bottle of Vladivar and a strange wall-eyed squint QA the rope action was probably, in hindsight, a small foo parse.

*Assuming this is an 'in progress' title and trying to avoid putting lots of negatives in one post.

rope is very good to drop a mine or other explosive on another worm. Very good item!

I use the rope all the time to get from place to place, yeah you can't do all of the tricks you can on the PC but there are still quite a few to do.

I don't know why you guys think the rope is tough to use. It really isn't...

Not to butt in, but nobody said it's tough. You can still do nifty things with it. It's just leaden, unresponsive, and frankly completely unintuitive if you had any amount of practice with previous title roping (Oh, and bugged. Bonus points for spotting the issues.)

It's an annoyance (and a seemingly unnnecessary and simple to overcome one) in an otherwise nifty product. Maybe we're fussy and clinging to what we liked. :D

Ah well.

Well, it isn't useless, the only way it's useless is if you don't know how to use it.

EDIT: Which would mean it's tough to use.

The rope's really useful in cavern levels. Just shoot to the ceiling and you can get anywhere. In the open levels, I stick with the jetpack (which we didn't have in Worms 2, so it kind of makes up for it).

WildDog9, I'm in Brighton. We should hang. Or at least play online.

Or, you know, since this topic is about ropers, it could be that the rope is useless for the traditional kind of roper game - which it is. So there's not a lot of point in having many of the more traditional roper map layouts or styles. For a topic about the potential Roper style games it seems to be getting a lot of replies from people who didn't actually play them.

I have to admit though, after playing some more with it last night and forgetting everything about WWP and W:A I started to enjoy it in it's own right. I'm loving how forgiving the landings are - you can catapult worms just great, and with far less fear of losing a turn on landing :)

I recall a rope that allowed you to go right the way round. Cant seem to do it anymore :-(

The ropes OK I guess, but not nearly as useful as it once was - esp since we have lost the bungee rope :-(

Well, as far as I'm concerned. None of the Worms games had the Ninja Rope the way it was in Worms Director's Cut AGA. The only version of the Rope that you can even wrap and unwrap around multiple landscape objects, and bounce around everywhere with. It was an adjustment to go from that rope to the PC one, so I didn't mind.

The original Worms still allowed you to work upwards, without too much trouble, but I think this rope is stiffened mainly as a way to make way for the specific uses of the Jetpack. The Jetpack was an object that worked its way in later Worms games. Before, when the Rope had its best mobility, it didn't exist.

Still, the Bungie was useful since it had very limited application and opened a great way to jump down from a high distance (in open maps). It works as a nice way to Scheme-remove the Jetpack and teleport, in cases you didn't want that level of travel offered.

I'm with the "the new rope sucks"-people. We always played the good old PS1-Version, which had an almost perfect rope (maybe some of the later PC-Version were better, didn't play them, but the DC-Versions sucked big time)

The Jet Pack isn't really a substitute since it's too easy to go past mines an edges. The rope always was some kind of a challenge to use, but a mighty weapon in the hands of a master ;)
