Hi, I'm new to this site, and this is probably my last resort. I have WWP installed on my Windows XP and it had this same recurring problem as it did before. I keep trying to load the game, but the game keeps closing and bringing up the same problem, something about the Digital Product ID. A few years ago, my friend had brought over a patch, and the game worked after that. After some problems and stuff though(not involving WWP), I had to clear everything off my comp. Now I'm trying to get the game back on, and the problem has come right back up. Does anyone know what patch I need to stop this problem?

Digital product ID? No retail CD version has such a thing.
Must be the downloadable Trymedia version, I guess.

Some patch that makes it work? Sounds strange to me.

Man, it's been years since I had played the game, I don't really remember much of anything about. I think it could be something like DirectX, but my memeory of it is a vague blur.

Well, reinstall the game and apply the patch (http://wwp.team17.com/main.html?page=comm&area=_down_patc).
Assuming your location really is California, you'll probably need the patch for the US version.
You'll need it for online play and the mission editor support anyway.

You can get the latest version of DirectX here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx
Also make sure you update your graphics drivers.
