I've been thinking (for all of about a minute) about what it would be like if the SNES was today's next-gen console.

I know, it sounds stupid (because it is) but what if Team17 were to release a new Worms game on a SNES? Would it be better? Would they be able to push the hardware further and squeeze more out of it? How long would it take to do compare to, say, an XBLA Worms game (aside from the cert)?

I'm not really sure where I'm going with this but I definitely wondered what I wrote.

YAY!
I don't get it.
But they could release a new Snes worms over the Wii Virtual Console.
But that would be quite pointless.

well, N64 one could be... anyways, it's almost the same from the XBOX LIVE one... (remake, I mean :p)

I expect they could make it look nicer. I mean, DKC2 looked amazing, and that had no more tech than Worms. I imagine they could put on bigger sprites and nicer text and things if nothing else, just because it wouldn't be a direct port of an old Amiga game. They could... console it up a notch.

Aside from its appearance, though, how close to W:A could they get? I mean, it would obviously be a lot slower and maybe force 6 worms on a map or something like that but... yeah... I dunno.

The SNES architecture seems really awkward for playing Worms in. Have you ever looked through ROMs on the old Nintendo systems? (Some emulators let you poke around a bit and I can rarely resist a quick glance.) They all seem to operate in 8x8 squares and it doesn't seem suited to Worms at all. I'd worry that you might end up eating a fair portion of the resources just getting it to run at all.

I doubt much of anything could be a lot worse than the SNES Worms that did come out.

There are some abbreviations in the game stats for Worms on SNES. Was wondering if anyone knew what they meant.

TEAM MV AVG PER FOR AGN DIF
BABES 1 0% 0 0 4 -4
BANDS 2 13% 0 0 8 -8

Also in the view Wormslist

P0S WORM PLD FOR
1 BRIDGET 1 0

I get that AVG is probably Average, and PLD is Played, and DIF is Diference (in the league). But I don't get FOR and PER.

Randomly guessing, MV could be Most Victories and PER could be Performance

For might be victories (number of matches FOR them.)

For is most likely to be kills. Making the last three Kills For, Kills Against, Kill Difference

Per - Perfect victories?

Surely Worms on the SNES today is Worms World Party on the GBA in 2003?
