View Full Version : WWP Border Box Map Bug

When I am playing a Worms World Party game (patched version) in which the map has a box border with the water being higher than the bottom border, crates get stuck where the bottom border should be when the fall in the drink, and the game gets stuck at that point. It is a very significant problem when you or someone is going to win, because then you can't quit out of the game. Is there a solution for this?

It is a known problem which was present in W:A as well (Deadcode fixed it later).
I'm not aware of a solution other than not to use maps with a solid bottom and water above ground or "water drop" level.

for your problem with not being able to quit you can ctrl-alt-delete.

for your problem with not being able to quit you can ctrl-alt-delete.
Or smash your computer alltogether in the fit of rage you got from not being able to win your amazing round. ;)

for your problem with not being able to quit you can ctrl-alt-delete.It does not work with a Windows 98 machine.

I have been using the precautions but on WormNet somebody who hosted did that, somebody girder glitched, and the crate went plop and got stuck. Thus, a rehost had to be done, and the person who remained after everyone quit got stuck inside.

erm, what girder glitch? and how does it affect the crate sinking bug?

and also, yes i wasnt sure if ctrl-alt-delete worked under win9x... but i know it does under winXP.

It's a wwp glitch I discovered roughly a year ago. It allows you to easily place a girder anywheres on the map. It ignores the girder distance limitation, and it can be placed ontop of land or game objects (such as worms, mines, crates, etc.). Objects will fall through land if the girder is placed ontop of them.

I discreetly taught two people how to perform the glitch. One of them decided to tell everyone (and I mean everyone) how to do it despite my warnings not to do so. The glitch has spread like wild fire since and is often misused in games.

Err, that's worms 2, this thread is talking about Worms World Party.

yes, but wwp and w:a use the worms 2 engine as well... i know w:a did have this exploit but it was fixed in a beta update (found it mentioned ages ago in the beta update readme/change log)... im not sure about wwp tho... it might still have the glitch in it like worms 2.

No, you are mixing up the girder glitches. There are at least 5 different ones that I know of. The one in the Worms 2 video has also been in WWP since the beginning. It only works if you place the girder while airborn, in open space, and within the girder limitation. The girder glitch in W:A allowed you to place a girder anywheres on the map within the girder limit if you were connected to the rope.

The one I found in WWP has no limitations. It can only be performed by doing something your average player would never even consider doing.

falling from rope, placing it and then re-attaching rope?

Franpa, you just described the girder glitch I directly clarified as not being the girder glitch Plainplane is referring to. How you managed to read my post and then comment the way you did is a paradox to me.

well, ive never been able to do what i said, ive only been able to do it via jumping and placing it during my jump... so i wasnt entirely sure if the end result was the same for the 2 methods.

thank you for clearing that up.

By the way Etho,

You told me to type this in the chat box (each line represents a seperate entry into the chat box) to unlock the glitches.

etc all the way to 1,000,000

That does not do anything.

By the way, I learned bungee glitch too. :D

Also, at the approximate rate of 1 entry per second, it would have taken you over 11 days straight (no sleep/eating) to do that. Even if you did, you could have at least got it on tape... could have broken some weird Guiness record or something ;)

Nope.
Even much, much more than 11 days.
The numbers get longer & longer and need more time to type.
Also, you need to allow for changing keyboards, because you'll definitely wear out several of them.
