I'm also getting the same message. After trying to use a no-cd fixed exe., I resorted to the old (normal) method of inserting the disc everytime I wanted to play.

I have the official US copy of WWP (Came in a triple pack).

And in case you're wondering, why did I abondon the no-cd method?

Well I made a thread about it ( still on the first page). I was having problems with the streaming of the team speech files. It's really annoying when every team speaks in English (default) when they should have more character. And yes, I did check the team settings.

When you have a no cd crack of the game in the exe, the patch updates the exe with an official, non-cracked version. NEW! CILLIT BANG CRACK BUSTER EDITION! BANG! AND THE CRACK IS GONE!

The answer to this one is to install the correct patch. Or, if you're using the Triple Pack edition, don't patch at all - AFAIK it's pre-patched.

Okay, go either [here (http://wwp.team17.com/main.html?page=comm&area=_down_patc)] or [here (http://www.dream17.co.uk/softography.php?id=42&s=downloads)] and download the patch that matches your version, i.e. if you own the US retail copy, download the US retail patch, and if you own the UK retail copy, download the UK retail patch.

So far as I am aware, if you own the Worms Battle Pack/Worms Triple Pack[/i] version of the game, or you have a budget re-release (e.g. Sold Out, Focus Multimedia, Green Pepper) it's pre-patched, or comes with the necessary patch already on the disc. And if you own the TryGames version - if so, I'm sorry to hear that - you don't need to patch at all.
