Just digged out that old dirty WWP CD and installed the game. Shock, there is no native widescreen resolution. Then again, I can make it without it either.

But, everything in the menu's is so so sluggish and the mouse is moving like on 3 fps... then I finally manage to get into a game, but all the colors are messed up, the worms are purple, mines are red, cans are also red, and the terrain is completley invisible. Sky also.

SP1 didn't help.

How to fix those problems?

Current config:
C2D E6300, Asrock ConRoeXFire-eSata2 MB, Gainward 7600GS, Samsung 20" Wide LCD 205BW connected by DVI cable.....
Latest drivers for everything......

Thank you very much!

Cant help you with the slow front end, but the missing colours during the game are due to other programs stealing the palette from WWP. Programs like MSN or Yahoo messenger should be shut down before you play WWP. In fact, all programs except for the vital stuff (like anti-virus sotware) should be shut down. Try it. Let us know if it works.

Naah, don't have time to try all those out. Gotta find my W:A CD.... hope it is fixed there......

So..... you ask for help on how to fix a problem, then when you get help you say you don't want it?

Ok.....

But yeah, W:A = so much better. Don't forget to upgrade to the latest patch.

Yep, the "slow menu" bug (caused by a driver problem on Nvidia cards) has been fixed for W:A, so go find & patch it (http://www.nanacide.com/wahelp) up, as there are lots of other new features.

The messed up colors are caused by some program stealing the focus, thus messing up the paletted colors of WWP.
It's most likely that you have a program running that uses an "always on top" feature, like messenger programs, Winamp, or such.
Find out which program it is and disable the feature, as you may have the same problem on W:A too. (Though W:A got minimizing support, which fixes the color palette again.)
