For the second problem, have you downloaded the service patch located somewhere on http://wwp.team17.com correct for your region?

I assume your copy is legal, as you said "i have original stuff."

By the way, on patching it, if your CD matches none of the ones on there, try downloading each one in turn.

I'm having the same issue. I re-installed windows and re-installed WWP but now it exits to windows after the initial screen. I checked the FAQ and my video card drivers are updated and so is my DirectX, still no luck. I hae this problem with and without the patch.

The weird thing is the game used to work fine before I formatted.

go to www.adobe.com and download/install the flash player and the shockwave player.

LOL WHAT?! Since when does WWP use any of those?!

Didn't help me at all. It baffles me why the game doesn't work anymore. :S

i can't search the string that would provide the most likely thread stating the solution i suggested.

Installing Flash doesn't do anyting...
I know this is a common problem with WWP or else it wouldn't be in the FAQ but.
I bought WWP SoldOut software version 2.5.4 and after the install I can not get past the WWP Intro Screen with the theme music either.
I have read all the forum posts and here's what I have and done so far. If anyone can see what I'm missing that'd be great...

Windows XP Pro
Pentium 4 3.0 GhZ
1GB PC3200 DDR

ATI Radeon VisionTek Xtasy 9600 Video card (128mb ddr)
with latest Catalyst 7.1 drivers installed
Installed Net Framework v2.0 50727 to go with the Catalyst drivers
Have had settings at 32 bpp and both 1024x768 and 800x600 and just tried 640 and nothing.
(since SoldOut is UK based would I have to change my settings on my Vid card to UK? I'm reaching here)

DirectX 9.0c installed

Windows service pack 1 from Team17 FTP site and extracted it into the Team17-WWP folder and it's all in there

Also have Windows service pack 2 installed - would this cause a problem?

Also uninstalled my NIMO codecs

Tried running it from Desktop Icon and start menu. I just let the title screen sit there for like 5 minutes and clouds were scrolling by, Island music going, then one mouse click and done.
There are some kick ass programs and patches for WA at nanacide.com/wahelp. Anything out there like that for WWP?

Thanks

I'm spotting a pattern here.

I'm using an ATI Radeon X600 series card, a friend of mine is using an ATI card, everyone I've seen who has similar problems who has stated a card has stated ATI...

I've upated my drivers, Dx is up to date, I have the latest patch. It worked fine on my last computer (nVidia card) but on this one on the ingame screen I get no background and the worms and text are all odd colours.

Are we going to get word from Team17 on this? I know it's an old game now, but it's the last of the 2D games, and I much prefer that format than the newer 3D style.

try this, it might work for worms world party as well... im reffering to resolutions above 640x480 result in a garbled screen.

Try what?

It doesn't matter what resolution I use though, it's the same.

I have the same problem  It doesn't have anything to do with reinstalling xp in my case though. I just did not play for a while and when I tried to yesterday...black screen with sounds...so frustrated. I think it has something to do with the updates to win xp cause those are the only things changed in my computer since the last time I played. I also have ATI Radeon 9600 by the way. hope someone will help us soon........

edit: I just solved it by what I gathered from other posts. Just close all browsers and office programs and it should work just fine

I'm using an nVidea 6600 and there is the same problem. It must be XP. changing compatibility to 2000 or 98 does not fix the problem :-(

update your drivers jellymann, it works fine on that graphics card under winXP 32bit.
