Here is the latest and cleanest monochrome rope race pack of mine: http://lex.clansfx.co.uk/requested/lexrrs.zip

Stick the maps in their own "Lex" folder, because not all of their file names start with "Lex". I've renamed the newbishly-named "LEXROPERACEPRO##.BIT" maps to "lexrrp##.BIT", also.

Cool! A glide from a rope! That's the first I've seen of one of those. :)

Yes, it surprised me too. I remember seeing a replay from Deadcode that had one, but that was with a weapon (drill I believe) before the glide itself. This one must've got something to do with the way a worm flies after the retreat time ends - maybe the same way as after a drill?

ehm sry but... how do you playback those??

Replay (.WAgame) files were introduced to Worms Armageddon with Deadcode's 3.6.19.7 beta update, which was released on 9 February, 2004. The files represent self-contained recordings of games, which can be played on any computer with the corresponding software updates installed.

Recordings of all games played (including offline, mission and training games) are saved automatically to the User\Games folder. File names consist of a date/time stamp, the game type, and the participating players.

The files contain all the information needed to play the replay flawlessly. This includes the game version which was emulated during the game, the map and the scheme, the participating teams (including the custom flags and graves), and the random seed used for random in-game events (such as random initial placement of worms and objects).

Hahah, woww nice!

P.S. why on earth do you start with drills on Shopper Schemes?

I prefer to have unlimed drills in my scheme. Imagine you are in mid-air and time runs out. Just select drill and press enter. Now you safely fall and suffer no fall damage. Also, if you get a nuke or girder starter pack or another weapon that is not allowed, you can do up to 45 damage with the drill, though. I like drills.

IIRC, the reason is as followed:
Those schemes were made a long time ago when you couldn't yet set ammo and delay for superweapons. Thus, if you wanted to play with superweapons enabled, you had a certain probability to get nukes and girder packs.

With a girder pack you can totally mess up a map with indestructible terrain enabled and nukes make the map all wet on the bottom. Both two things you don't want when playing a game of Shopper.
The solution: add a very high delay time for those weapons.

That said, I actually allow the usage of nukes in shoppers I host, because it's fun.

scheme works fails for me... i cant make schemes with it that have a high delay for nukes or Armageddon which is why its in my schemes... does someone have a scheme editor that has this issue fixed?

[UFP]Ghost
28 Jan 2007, 16:45
I keep all non-usable weapons in my scheme. As long as shopper is easy i think it should be partly luck, it sucks to get a crappy weapon when he has like 50 health and you get a nade, and hes on the ground. But i do prefer the luck aspect of shopper so yes drill would be important.

I LOVE the homing pigeons... Take a look at the funny classic cartoons you get with them: A red worm is sitting just next to an oil barrel and waiting to be picked by a bird. She flies around and around taking a look at the worm and then suddenly decides to get lost and find herself another innocent victim... @ 3:50

In the 1vs1 game a similar situation presents itself @ 2:40. However, the bird thinks about hitting another target...a worm at the other side of the map.

I have a couple of nice shots in these replays:

Replay #1 - I thought this was cool because I called the shot before my turn, and the reaction of Tazmanian-Devil. "Like that would ever happen"

http://wymanthescienceman.googlepages.com/2007-02-0506.58.37OnlineSquirrelMast.rar

Replay #2 - I thought this was sweet, notice the tiny delay when the mine stops.

http://wymanthescienceman.googlepages.com/2007-02-0700.25.16OnlineSquirrelMast.rar

The times to watch at are at the end of the files in the archives, they are winning shots in both games.

Also I got a funny idea for a new scheme which proves great fun! You do a normal BnA, each team with max worms, and press delete twice so there are no names! I saw a thread on this forum a while ago which had a game quite like it but I can't remember what it was.

It's called the "Magical Mystery Tour", which was a cheat option in Worms DC and disabled all name tags during a game.

You can do it by using TeamED and create a team with characters that don't display ingame.
Can't remember the Ascii codes though.

Besides, Deadcode has been working on a MMT option with multiple levels of difficulty for the beta update.

The Simpsons - Ep. AABF17 "Monty Can't Buy Me Love":

Burns: That didn't go well, did it?
Homer: Good thing those lesbians knew CPR.
Burns: Oh, what's the use? I'll never be a popular beloved billionaire like
Arthur Fortune.
Homer: [wistfully] Oh, Arthur Fortune. [sighs] Do you know what that fabulous
man just did? He gave the Springfield Zoo two male pandas *and* got
them to mate successfully!
Burns: And a stunt like that impresses people?
Homer: Oh, yeah. And I'm not easily impressed. Wow! A blue car!
Burns: If a couple of Chinese bamboo gobblers can win people's hearts, I'm
going to bring them something that man has searched for since the dawn
of time.
Homer: A sober Irishman?
Burns: Even rarer.

This wasnt as, well, impressive as Melon's failure, but i managed an irritatingly unlucky move in this shoppa at 13:20

Other notable points is an armageddon at 5:00 which did barely nothing, because it was a shoppa, and a similarly unlucky move by someone else at 13:20. Except they used a sheep, not a homing pidgeon. >_<

you do know pisto, that having a parachute armd while roping prevents you from getting any damamge (unless you fall into water or blasted by a mine or fire wtc.) no matter what, so you can arm a para and go ballistic speeds and not lose your turn :P

I should know.

No - you flew up, and when you reached the upper edge of the coordinate space, the worm wrapped around - to the bottom of the ocean.

franpa
27 Jun 2007, 01:04
yes, all the wrapping stuff etc. was discovered in worms 2 >.> www.computerhead.biz has lots of weird glitches and bugs that also apply to W:A, its just hard to set the weapon settings correctly (unless you use older version guy) to perform them.

I am looking for a batty rope update. I played on-line and thought it was really fun. Fast foward to 5 min for a funny shot.

How do I upload the file it's too big?

Either compress the file (zip or rar) or upload it to something like yousendit.com

Watch this one at 3 minutes 39 seconds. You need the new update of course.
Also, just watch through the rest of the thing too...there were some pretty funny moments there. At 13 minutes and 14 minutes cool things happened. Also, I can't remember where it is, but therei s a cool instance of me being in a small hole, launching a banana bomb and escaping *JUST* above the explosions.
Ooh, it's too big, even in RAR. Jut a moment...

This is to illustrate how amazingly fun BnAs can be with three-levelled maps like Melon's creation and max out on mines and/or barrels. Two replays, one with both mines and barrels (massive chain reactions) and one with 250 mines (like pinball!)

To replicate this, just find a BnA scheme, a map, and put mine/barrel count up to 250. Play. Works best if each player has 16 worms on each team (two teams of 8 worms each)

Theft! I would have been seen doing that in a movie a year ago if Wiz wasn't so busy/lazy. :p

i didn't pretend to be inventor of the trick
i never see that when worm fly such a long distance. so i even had a problem with a camera (it focused on the granade and worm flew beyond the screen), so i need to made a gap for granade. and it looks nice thats all i wanna show

Yes, of course. Just kidding.

mmmK, Buggus Wormus decided to launch himself from the center of the map at an altitude of 3926 pix - it brought him a massive 15.000-16.000 pixels further in the desired direction, just around 1500 pix away from the left sidewall, where he had an appointment with Nemo and sum other fishies... Sorry about the ressurection, but this is THE funniest BnA I've ever seen! Watch all of it, there's so much funny stuff in it. P.S. I used to be called Werner then. (please don't report this)

(please excuse the bump, folks)

attached is a recording that's been on youtube for some time now (here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gv6pH012-tc)) so some of you may have seen it already, but i figure it's more enjoyable to watch in WA; the short of it is, an online casual among myself (Dukes of Duck) and some friends, gone bonkers right off the bat! really shows you just how crazy things can be with double damage, only 1 worm is left standing by the end of the first turn

i've got some other recordings with some hilariously unlucky moves in them (enough that some friends of mine have been working on a montage for a while now) but i'll need some time to dig 'em up
