Hey there. I remembered how great this game was, so I reinstalled it. I can go through the menus, but am greeted only by a black screen when I try to enter any sort of match. I tried setting my compatibility for windows 98/95 , but no luck.

Any solutions? I am on windows XP. Also, would it be worth it to upgrade to Worms World Party?

I`d suggest you that. I hope you won`t have the same problem as I had :-/

Do you have the latest patch? You can get it here (http://forum.team17.co.uk/showthread.php?t=31140). Otherwise I can't really help you.

And don't get Worms World Party. Worms Armageddon is much better.

Wow, I am impressed at the seemingly thriving community that still revolves around this game. I figured I'd get a response in a day or two at best. So does that mean people are still gaming it online?! :D

I looked at your thread andy and it would appear you only have v3.0. Click the link in my previous post for the 3.6.26.5 installer.

Um...

"Upgrading" to WWP would be more like a sidegrade (if not downgrade, if you take into account that WWP hasn't been updated for years).

Also, the link andy_blah posted isn't the latest patch. Use this (http://worms.thecybershadow.net/files/WA_update-3.6.26.5_Beta_Installer.exe) instead (GrimOswald also linked to it), it'll take care of all the updating for you.
