The pricing is entirely down to Sony, not T17.

People will always turn a positive into a negative. :(

You think perhaps this was a purely philanthropic move by Sony?

He wasn't referring to the PS3 or Sony, he was referring to the negativity of Slick's comment.

So was Andrew.
He knows about Slick's temptation to take bribes!

Well yes. But Sony must have picked that price for a reason, and damn sure it's not because that's all anyone will pay for Lemmings. So if not Slick's idea, what? And if he's right, then how is he being negative?

So if you're right you can't be negative now eh? Well, this is certainly a day for history to remember.

Anyway, I wasn't the one who thought it was negative, it was Zero Beat, just in case I gave the impression that that was my opinion as well in my previous post.

I was thinking along the lines of:

At $3, even without a demo (I don't know if there is one) most people would probably give it a go simply from a recommendation from a website article or friend.

At $9, which is about what I'd expect them to charge, only people that love Lemmings or know exactly what they're getting will part with their money.

I think they'd sell more than 3x as many downloads at the impulse purchase price. I don't see any desperation because the service has only just started (and not started at all in Europe!).

Apparently it was $2.99 for three days on the store, then switched to $5.99.

Not sure what happened. Was it a mistake?

Huh...

It's not the biggest bargain ever. I bought Mashed for 99p the other day.

Heck, all a game has to do to be worth that is install properly. Even Big Rigs: Over The Road Racing might be worth that. And Mashed is a damn sight better than that.

I think if you've paid £425 for a PS3, they should give you Lemmings and Kutaragi should do the foxtrot up and down your street for 3 weeks.

well keep in mind that you are getting a good deal for purchasing a PS3 for that much. Blue ray players themselves are around a thousand US dollars over here in the USA.

Well that's only true if you want a Blu-ray player in the first place. And most people, I think, don't particularly want one. I don't even know anyone with a TV good enough to make any use of one. To those people, it's just expensive.
