hey,
i'm an old fan of WWP, last time i played within WormNet had been something
like 2 years ago, i'm trying to restore passed glory (=
so, i installed the europe patch from the official site of wwp and evreything
seems to be working, but after the login window (username&password)
it announce the open music as usual without showing nothing, the screen
stays blue and empty, no tables, names, anything, just blue.

i tried to figure out what's the problem and i have no idea, the ip address
is correct, patch installed, disk inside, directX9 installed.

i'm using Zone Alarm and had confirmed all the requested files and
connections that the game needed.
i'm also behind a router but from what i have understood the router is
problematic only for hosted games.

-windows xp with sp2
-directX9

what stops me from joining WormNET ?

thanks.

Identical Problem to you SuperToffy:

1 - Installed: Euro patch
Win XP SP2
DX9
ZoneAlarm ISS 6.5

2 - Router:
Ports 17010-17012 on TCP & UDP Forwarded to the correct router IP
Port 6667 TCP Forwarded to the correct router IP

3 - AddressOverride set to 1 in registry.
Correct Internet IP set in registry, (& within WWP), too.

Result: Everything seems to be working, but, like SuperToffy,
after the login window - username & password accepted -
the opening music plays,
BUT SHOWS NOTHING - screen stays blue and empty, no tables,
names, anything, just blue.

I've tried allowing WWP unrestricted access in ZA
Also opened same ports Incoming & Outgoing in ZA

Looks like the chat-irc is being blocked somehow, but I aint too clever and
could really do with some help here too.

Any help would be appreciated.

Good luck to you too, SuperToffy.

jesusthief,
the problem has been found and resolved after houres of frustration.
the obstacle was under our nose - complicated ZoneAlarm.
in ZoneAlarm there is a category called 'IM security', you were right
something was blocking the IRC chat, click the 'settings' label and then
click the "advanced" button, the second option from below blocks IRC
connections, unmark it.

have fun.
shay.
