The only thing I can think of that's better about Worms3D is the more challenging missions and challenges.

I'd agree with GrimOswald, the challenges are too easy in "Worms 4: Mayhem" and I had a lot more fun with the rope (and tall, wacky levels) in "Worms 3D." Most importantly I miss the cool generated levels and abusing the uzi lol :p.

There is a cave in the Tunjuna Mountains in Los Angeles. The entrance is hard to find, as plantlife and vegetation have grown much over the past couple of years, obscuring much of the entrance to the cave. But if you peek in, you can see the shimmer of a campfire...

A pocket diary, dated 2004, contains dates and appointments. But he has no other diaries, or books, or anything for that matter. It is self-evident that he has been living here for a good two years now, perhaps a little longer.

I had the opportunity last year to visit this cave and speak to this man. I learnt much from him. Once, he had lived not too far from the mountains - Sunland, in fact - where he lived a happy life. Very much a Gamer of the Hardcore variety, he had a killer computer set-up with hundreds upon hundreds of games. But, growing tired of his material life, he sopld it all and fled to the mountains to become one with Nature again.

I asked him if he'd played Worms 3D. He said yes, and he loved it. I told him that Worms 4: Mayhem had come out a year ago, and even offered to take him down to my Dad's place at the foot of the mountains to give it a try. He politely declined, saying he would be abandoning his new life.

I left the cave later, after a long conversation with him. He seemed content, happy that he had someone to share his experiences with. My Dad and I are in the process of ghost-writing a biography of his life - he has had some crazy experiences.

But the one thing you will have to take note of about this man, and the point I have been slowly crawling to since I started writing this post, is that he is perhaps the only person in the entire world, short of people who have gone blind or lost their arms to some catastrophic accident (or both) during the past 2-3 years, who would consider Worms 3D to be better than Worms 4: Mayhem.

I think 3d is better. I love both of the games, but 3d just was harder and lasted me longer. If I had to chose one of the 3d worms games as my favorites though it would be worms forts. That was the best 3d worms game.

you have to edit .xom files to tweak w3d, and some people find that challenging.

Oh, you can tweak Worms 3D, as converting a .XOM file back to a .XML file should be possible.

it's easy if you know structure of each container. i think one of the w3d demos (not the official one) allowed you to convert .xom files into .xml files using telnet. people actually used that to tweak w3d demo. the containers probably did not change, so studying these would let you write a converter.

In Worms 4 you can customize a lot!

i miss de mouse cursor from W3d, and the Jetpack.... man.... those where way more awesome than in W4M. I can't really choose... W4M is missing something... :rolleyes:

I've played both worms 4 and 3D.

In fact, it was a few years ago when I first played any worms game. It was at my friend's house, it was Worms 3D for the GameCube. It was cool. I said, "Sure, why not." So I bought my copy for PS2. I loved it. Then, I got WF:US. It was also fun, and it presented a new worms experience.

Then, I went to Team17.com to see about if a new Worms game would come soon. What do you know, I saw the previews for Mayhem. I learned it was not for PS2, so I was dissapointed. Well, I ended up getting it for PC.

It was so fun to play it for the first time, and was much better than the demo. The graphics were better, the weapons and features were better. (I miss the Uzi, though... :()

I never thought a worms game could be so awesome.



Long story short: Worms 4 > Worms 3D

I prefe worms 4 than worms 3d...but i like both

Worms 4: Mayhem was indeed less difficult, and had some all-new gameplay, but the map-generator feature is more... limited comparing to Worms 3D.
And Worms 3D's music gives me a good feel...

Worms 4 mayhem is better because doublejump easier ;)

Worms 4 mayhem:
good: better graphics,more customising,easy to jump, faster moving, addictive, more easter eggs, later version, can get most features of 3D

bad: landscapes based on only 5 themes,unlockables hard to get,one big mission storyline.

In between?: diffrent new type of worms due to codemaster influence over sega[or other way around]jet packs differs game differs

worms 3D:
good:more themes, diffrent mission storylines, catchy music, more tutorials villian named boggy pete returns,+ better voices


Bad: older, slower worms,harder to use weapons,

I have them two... and I must say Wroms Mayhem has got an amaizing user interface and the stories are amaizing too (maybe too short ...) but i hate the ****ing script hackers :eek:, some of you guys maybe like "tweaking the scripts"... maybe I'll like it more if Team17 implant punkbuster or some other anti-cheat monitoring programs. However, the ninja rope is better on W3D and the campains are longer and more dificult same in challenges...

Actually, what kind of hacking (online only!) are you experiencing? I know that the game is easily editable, but I thought the only online hacking that worked was overpowering the team weapon and adding superweapons to schemes.

I am a ****ing script hacker, but not a cheater. Script hacking (or tweaking) isn't necessary cheating. Overpowered team weapons are quite unfair, I recognize, but you can also do interesting stuff with tweaking (interesting game schemes, team weapons with firework or light effects).

Oh, and you can also create worms with multiple hats, dinos with bunny ears, for example. :p

I think a ****ing script hacker in this case would be anyone that uses their tweakings online, outside of pre-arranged matches.

The games I've played with _Kilburn are some of the most funny I've ever played. :p I don't know about the demo, but in the full game he's the only player I've met who does it (Besides myself, but I just make thinks look different. Cyborgs with mohawks for the win! :p) To be honest I think you just need to lighten up XXV1.

Plasma, I mean the weapon overpower tweaks or some like this, wich allow you to win easly a match.
_Kilburn, you'er right a script hacker maybe isn't a cheater, but what I mean is that if profesional players who play Worms Mayhem make script hacks and publish them on the internet are giving other players who can't make script hacks the possibility to learn them, tell this to other players and in a phew of years, month or weeks we have a Wormet with 3 or 4 profesional players who do scripts hacks to have fun and other 20 players who are noobs and use the "tweaks" to win and say "I'm a professional player, I've beat you", this is the real problem and because that Team 17 have to put anty-cheating programs like a registry cleaner or something like PunkBuster. Please don't make Worms Mayhem an other online burn out, players like me and other people haven't fun with this "tweaks", but making maps... thats rock !!

Maybe this can "light up" Team17's crew and motivate them to maken an other patch.. a anti ONLINE TWEAKING Patch, I say to all players who will have fun with the scripts... download Hamachi and play onLan if the patch will launched

its this simple:script hacking isnt cheating,if you use it offline.if you use it online,then its cheating.(unless you play with someone who has the same script hacks)

i have played both 3d and 4 mayhem. through much deliberation, i have concluded that 4 is a better game to to various reasons, but 3d is not without its merits. i bought both games at the point of their release, so i've had enough time to know. 3d is better for challenging gameplay and a few other aspects, I like 4 better though.-------FORTS FOREVER!! :p

Look at Gmod 10! SCRIPTED Weapons, tools, entities!
And besides, it two people have different tweaks, the game ends.

Hi all, im Manolito, i vote for Worms 4 Mayhem.

And tweaking not the same as cheating.... i play this game 1 year and 7 months (all days...) and i can say there isnt cheats for this game... at least in pro style (without massive(noob) weapons...).

For all that ppl that says worms in 3D isnt as playable as in 2D is coz u didnt play enough... just look my vids on youtube... and you can see all we can do :)

The key is rope, in W4 we can do amazing flies... in worms 3D.... xD

For those that say: "rope in w4 is very easy, comparing with w3D" -> try do that i do :)

Worms 3d! Mayhem is the easiest Worms game there is...

Worms 4 : Mayhem!

Reasons:

1. There are more missions and challenges.
2. The maps are better and larger.
3. The worms are moving faster. In Worms 3D the worms are moving slow and I hate that sound when they move.
4. The camera is much better than Worms 3D. In Worms 3D the camera is moving too easy.
5. The weapons are better than Worms 3D.
6. The worms jump much more easier. In Worms 3D when I try to jump high, I can't do this! In Worms 4 : Mayhem I can do this much more comfortable.
7. The landscapes are better.
8. The missions are more challenging.
9. The graphics are better.
10. Worms 4 : Mayhem is much more fun than Worms 3D.

These are my reasons why I like Worms 4 : Mayhem more than Worms 3D.

Since when did the worms move faster in mayhem!? The camera is so slow and anoying in 3d the camera was fast and so was the worms.

I prefer 3d but prefer some things in mayhem like costumes and landscapes.

Worms 4 Mayhem and Worms 3D.

Worms 4 gives you cooler maps and tons of custimization stuff. It was both easier yet harder. the story was extreamly easy and I flew by them And won in 3 days. but the time limets and deathmatch challenge 9 made me want to shove my computer off a 100mile cliff while on Fire and smash into thousands of pieces:mad:

I can't decide which is my favourite. Worms 3D has my favourite maps and missions but in worms 4 you can customize worms weapons and have different battle modes.

The biggest and most disapointing thing I found in worms 4 however was.....

You haven't played Worms 3D, and yet you would rate it as a ''bad" game, because you only play the "good" ones? You haven't played Worms 3D, yet you say you choose Worms 4. And we weren't really interested in what games you own, wuffus. Many wormers have most of them.
