Also, don't say from the WWP files. I dont have that available to me right now... please help!

sounds are on the hard drive
e.g. C:\Team17\Worms World Party\Data\Wav
voices are on the CD
e.g. D:\Data\User\Speech

Present for you Jake R. Please note that these SFX are property of Team17. I believe you are technically not allowed to use them, but the Team17 company so far has been very kind on this issue.

Eek!!! Ok, thankyou for that bonz. According to what I read in that thread, I have unintentionally broke the forum rules enough to get banned a few times. Now im scared

P.S. Jake... you are on your own.

Yep. That's why I was asking about the soundfiles in your Worms SFX converter tool too in the other thread, which could change the SFX files without actually owning the game they are coming from. :-/

However, I think a big difference between me and K^2 is that he persisted to defy Team17's cease and desist requests, while they have not even raised an eye brow towards me. Also, he editted and released something that wasn't made available to the public.

The SFX I included with my program is a bit of a grey area. I did distribute the SFX used by w2, w:a, and wwp with my program, but they are all stored in 1 big .dat file. A person can only extract them if they own 1 of the 3 games, or if they have some computer smarts. The extracted .wav files have not been manipulated in any way. Also, I think you could technically say you own worms 2 if you have w:a or wwp because the .exe's retain the worms 2 name.

True.

One they sober up.

No, the W4M maps were (erroneously) available on an X-Box demo of the game, IIRC.
He released one edited W4M map (useable in W3D) at first, but then just made a tool so everyone could convert the maps themselves if they owned that demo disk.
It all happned prior to the release of the game though.

So you make stuff from one game available in another that a person doesn't need to own, the same thing that K^2 did. (Actually slightly worse, because the SFX aren't availble unless you have the game.)
If you now edited your program so that you'd need to own the respective game you want to use the SFX of, the affinity would be complete.

Well, you'd need to argue with Spadge, get your threads deleted, get banned, move to Dream17 and release your stuff there. :D

I'm not going to worry about it unless someone in authority makes a fuss about it. But from now on I plan to be more cautious.

I think the CutWorm thread is what could have gotten me in the most trouble. I had no idea such a thread was in clear violation of the forum rules. :-/

What's spo violating about that?

Fiddler for WA!
There are 2 tons of fiddler threads if you look, and none of those are closed cept the spammy ones

Wow, this got off-topic... I'm not even allowed to use the music/SFX for a flash movie, even if I give credit?

Many others have used the WA sound effects and haven't been targeted for it, so I don't see why not. This includes FatalFanatic's super sheep game, Worms Breakout, and some others.

Worms breakout is even on the official w2 and wa sites :o

But Worms Breakout 2 isn't.

You'll be fine. IS Team17 don't want it, then they'll send you an e-mail saying so, in which case you should remove the stuff rahter rapidly.
