For some reason, after I install the game, it says I need to insert the CD. Even though it is clearly inserted. How can i fix this? I can "Explore" the CD, even run it. But whenever I try to play the game itself, it won't allow do to "No CD in CD-Rom drive..."

Have you installed the patch (SP1) (http://wwp.team17.com/main.html?page=comm&area=_down_patc)?
Because there are 3 different version. Installing the wrong one may be causing this.

Are you really located in Antarctica? :)

No. I'm actually from the United States. Its just that I registered years ago and never got around to changing that.

Also, that didn't fix my problem. Different error, but it still has to do with the CD-Rom not being located.

Uuuh, by any chance is that WinXP 64, or Windows Vista Beta? Because it does NOT look normal. Also, try finding wwp.exe and choosing compatibility for Win 98/ME. Worked for me when that error came up.

It looks like regular XP with icons changed and colour loss for the gif.

Guess what, my WinXP desktop looks like Win95.

It's WinXP, with icons and visual styles changed. Also, switching compatiblity did not help. Its as if the files in the CD aren't being recognized by the computer, but the disk itself is.

The way I installed it was by "Exploring" the CD files, because the "Install" button in the autorun didn't work.

I'm having the same problems but only after patching to SP1. Wasn't there a beta patch for WWP?

And WWP seems a little slow in the menus on my athlon 3200 with 1gb ram.:-/

Have you installed the correct version?

No.

Seems like the "slow menu" bug.
What graphics card and graphics drivers you have?
I bet it's a Geforce 6xxx series with drivers higher than Forceware v66.93.

I also have the same problem:
"Please insert the WWP CD".
I have installed a WWP Spanish version and the SP1 (for Spanish lang, sure).
Someone can help on that?

Thanks!

Ugh, same problem! Nobody's solved this yet? I left my original CD back in the States (only brought my hard drives to Japan), and I bit the bullet and bought the 3-pack because W:OW2 was making me nostalgic, and I wanted to play online with my friends who don't have a DS.

But, okay, first of all, there's a stupid Sold Out Software splash screen when I start up, and it spends about nine eternities on this screen reading the CD. Then it says "Please insert the correct CD-ROM, select OK and restart application." I tried switching compatibility to 98/Me, no dice. I even changed the drive letter on my DVD-ROM from E: to D:, just in case that was the problem. It clearly wasn't. I already got hosed once by TryMedia, but at least that version started up (it just asked for a CD for online play). I got my refund on that and ordered directly from the T17 Shop, as per the advice on this forum. Now what the hell is going on?

Edit: Okay, problem solved! For some reason, downloading Service Pack 1 from the Sold Out website at mastertronic.com solved it (and got rid of the splash screen, as an additional plus). For the record, this CD is apparently not prepatched, though everyone says it is. :)
