i was really happy when i saw the update where we can select an alternative colour combination in settings (im a little blind colour), but yet thisīs not really as i would like. In game the colours are different for me than how they appears in settings, since letters of worms names are small. So i was thinking if it would be possible in next update there will be a palette colour where we could choose the exactly colours we want :) It would be wonderful!! .Thanks

Oso, if you can come up with a set of six colours which you can differentiate, I could add them as a 3rd colour set.

Just to make it clear for you, these are the team colour sets which W:A currently has:

Normal colours:

Colour set optimized for people with protanomaly (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_blindness#Red-green_color_blindness):

Also, I don't see a reason for colours to appear in-game differently than in the game's settings dialog. Could it be that your video card/monitor is displaying colours differently at different resolutions? Try switching the game to 640x480 - it's the same resolution as used in the front-end, and the colours should be identical.

Protanomaly is a fairly rare form of color blindness, making up about 1% of the male population.
Would it not have been more seinsible to add a colour scheme which aids those with a slightly more common form of colour-blindness?

I mean, adding colour-blindness stuff is a good idea but it only caters for males anyway. Surely picking the lowest common denominator would be a more suitable solution.

Maybe I'm missing the point...

i think the current one is there because deadcode suffers from it so was able to test it etc. Without people to show what works for them, colour sets cant be added.

Correct...

In this image (http://forum.team17.co.uk/attachment.php?attachmentid=21439&d=1115656546) that I posted in an older thread (http://forum.team17.co.uk/showpost.php?p=384636&postcount=26) you can see both the normal and the new colors saved in gray scale as a monochromat (someone who only sees b/w) person would see it.
Note that this is the most extreme case. mostly people only have problems with one or a pair of colors.

You can see that now the colors marked with the blue and red spots are now more distinguishable with the new colors.
They are still quite similar.

The lowest common denominator would be a gray scale set of colors, with very distinct shades of gray.
Though, if every color deficiant Worms player (one from each sub-group at best) would test the current alternative or provide alternatives that they can see, would be much better.

in the default colour scheme can all the colours be made marginaly brighter? or is it too stupid to ask for such a thing...

Oso, if you can decide on a set of color substitutes (a mapping for each of the 6 team colors) I can easily implement them as a complete 3rd color choice with a matching Gfx2.dir file. I have it set up to be nearly automatic.

Do you know exactly what kind of color deficiency you have? What are some typical color pairs you confuse with each other?

Oh yeah, I hadn't thought of that!
