well... i know that these games use vsync and was wandering what the best refresh rate is for them... (to minimize screen tearing when vsync is off)

This thread should answer your question, franpa: http://forum.team17.co.uk/showthread.php?t=22825

wow that thread was really interesting, thanks. i hope that a way to smooth it out at any refresh rate will be implemented into the next patch :)

(forum was updated just before)

100hz is pretty damn smooth... and yes most people wont know the difference... but if you used zsnes you can easily see the difference when using vsync on a refresh rate other then 60hz.

is the optimal refresh rate for wwp the same as for w:a? as it is horrendous at 75hz and 100hz... in a range of 60 - 100hz what is the best.

The best refresh rate would be 50Hz, as that's the engines frame rate.
100Hz would be the second best rate, as it simply doubles the frames so every 2nd frame is sync'ed.
Sadly, my TFT screen is only capably of 60, 72 & 75Hz.
With 75Hz being worse than 100Hz, as only every 3rd frame is sync'ed (1.5x).

well wwp is horrendous at 100hz compared to w:a and w2... which is why i asked specificaly about wwp.

That's because WWP still uses the 18.2 Hz timer, like W:A used to (and still does if TimerWorkaround is enabled). As a result the updates are jerky no matter what.

thank you very much for that info.
