Hi folks!

I've been playing WWP a lot with some friends lately via LAN or Internet and it's all good, I had no issues at all. LAN games just work out of the box and WormNet worked after a little tinkering on my router/game config.

Now, I want the other people on my LAN (behind the same router as me) to be able to join my game on the Internet. Is this possible ? If so, what should I do ?

u have to forward the ports to both computers local IP addresses and you need to configure the firewall on the other pc aswell.

um..... i actually beleive the answer is 'not directly'. If player 3 hosts, then it's not a problem. If one of the players on the LAN hosts then the external IP the internet player is using to connect to you (and is being used by wormnet) will not be available to those on the network, to them you are known by your local address.

What you can try is hosting as usual and having the other LAN player use the direct IP method of connecting to you, using your local IP. Someone said it didn't work for them, but its worth a try.

I was about to reply the same when he posted that, but I soon realised this is the WWP Subforum, and therefore he has no option to play on direct IP.

Only thing remaining would be trying the LAN game, but I'm far from sure it can work. Worth a try anyway.

oh yeah, oops! forgot that wasn't always an option!

In that case the only easy route is to have the player not on you network do the hosting.
