On the bus to work this morning, some guy's cellphone went off, and I knew I recognized the ringtone from somewhere, even though it only played for a few seconds. It was driving me crazy the rest of the day, particularly because I was fairly certain it was from a video game, only I hadn't heard the tune in quite a long time so I couldn't quite place it. Got home, browsed some of my soundtracks, didn't find anything, until one possibility clicked just a few minutes ago. It was from Superfrog; World 5 (see attachment).

I find this marvelously amusing as a quick anecdote, but why not turn this into a thread about any brief, particularly interesting or amusing things that don't quite fit into the Positive Events thread?

Lol, listening to it now, it doesn't make a bad ringtone. At least it's not utterly annoying. ;)

For a fleeting moment there I read 'crazy frog'. Phew that you didn't say that. *listens*

I managed to make a lorry stall the other day :D it couldn't go as slowly as me on my bike up the hill to college, I heard this crunch of gears behind me and I'd got to the top of the hill before it got moving again.

The start sounds like a normal ringtone. What makes you think it was this tune if you only heard the first few seconds?

The fact that it was completely and fully identical. Same instrument and everything.

To clarify, I heard maybe the first 5 or 6 seconds, based on Winamp's timer.

Bah, the guy should have started the 'tone off with a more interesting bit. I just cut the high score music from the Speed Devils table of Pinball Fantasies and encoded it to MP3 for use as a ringtone. You can get it here (http://www.wurmz.eclipse.co.uk/stuff/rubbish/spddevlshiscor.mp3) if you like. Proper classic stuff, that.
