Hey I wanted to make a Worms map in photoshop putting a bunch of stuff together what do I need to know

Picture size: 1920x696 pixels
Colours: 112 max
Background colour: Black (0,0,0)
Smallest space a worm can walk through (in general, there are exceptions): 17 pixels height, 9 pixels width

If you wanna know more, ask more specific questions. ;)

You can save as a bitmap and let Worms change it to PNG if you wish...(no point really). I have had 0 problems so far in savinga BMP in well over 100 colours but maybe that is because I am using definate colours, like full red and full blue (0,0,255 for eg)

Sweet thanks alot What will happen if I use more then 100 colors?

Well:
If the map has less than 64 colours it will work without malfunctions
If the map has less than 96 colours it will remove some background bits
If the map has less than 112 it will make the background black
If the map has more than 112 it will not load

I'm not 100% sure about these, can someone clarify?

Again and again and again and once more I post this link:

http://wiki.thecybershadow.net/Colour_map

64 colours and less - the map will be displayed perfectly, with no glitches;
65-96 colours - the map background sprites (falling debris, clouds, etc.) are removed;
97-112 colours - the entire background becomes solid black;
113 colours and more - the map will not load.

Well, that's almost the same as above.

What's not to understand?

I wasn't sure if that was correct or not.
But now I do

Erm... Stealing text from CyberShadows wiki without linking is not nice.
I understand him.

Ok, here's the problem though, what if I'm adding pictures to the map? how do I reduce the total amount of colors? I'm using photoshop but I just can't figure out a way to limit the colors. But I'd be willing to do it in another program.

In that case, once you've done the map, just import it from map editor, and it will make it fit to the game.

I'm sorry :( I didn't mean what someone would probably understand when he would read that post.

That post was supposed to be in a tired/desperated tone, not an angry one. This question has been asked a few times, and the most accurate information on the topic is on that wiki page. I didn't mean to add any sarcasm or insult to "What's not to understand?" - I misunderstood Muzer's question, and thought he didn't understand some of the text he pasted.

That's not it either. What Muzer posted was almost the same as in the wiki, except for the unclear "it will remove some background bits" - I was pointing out that someone has already researched this and has written it down for everyone's reference.

Just wanted to say that i would understand, if you got a bit irritated.
Don't get me wrong, i know that you are a friendly person.
But if someone would steal something from me, i WOULD get angry.
I was talking from my point of view. Not from yours.

Maybe i should have said that i don't belive that you've been acting rude. ;)
