Hey!

I downloaded the 3.6.26.5. update in order to make the game work in WinXP. Well, couple of dll-files were missing, fix this! Missing files were ltfil10n.dll and ltkrn10n.dll.

And the game crashes a lot. I cannot open multiplayer section, I can't edit team names, the screen resolution won't change...

I understand if you guys won't notice this message (after all WA IS 7 years old...) but I love the game!

*sigh*

Read carefully (http://www.nanacide.com/wahelp).

I always find it worrying when people fail to notice a sticky with a sentence's worth of capital letters.

Put the sticky's font title in RED. That way you will have a little more success

Good idea. Maybe they could also make the font size 72px and make it blink. All with a green highlight, of course.

Also, perhaps they should have a page which comes up every time you click a link which says "Have you checked the stickies? It's what they're there for" or something.

New members should get redirected to the stickys upon their first 5 visits. ;)

It was a very good idea vader....people take more notice of red font, so your sarcasm isn't warranted. The idea is to make more people take notice of sticky? Then I have just explained how, take it or leave it. If you leave it, enjoy extra people asking the same questions.

My point is that it should be enough that it is a sticky and has a sentence's worth of capital letters.

My sarcastic post was in order to emphasise this, not flame your suggestion. Your suggestion is valid but shouldn't be necessary.

Dando

Yes, shouldn't be necessary, but like many things...IS ;):p

I think we're over-emphasising my point now...

I just hope someone actually turns the font red, but somehow I can't see it:)

Agreed with Dando. That would actually be useful. To be totally honest, I usually subconsciously skip reading all-capital-letter sentences, subconsciously passing them off as having been written by newbies.

I've never seen a newbie post a sticky.

I've never seen a newbie post a sticky.

No, but you have seen a newbie post a strange thread with the title in capital letters.

Vader

Yes but they weren't sticky. A sticky (with capital letters or without) is clearly not a post made by a newbie.

unless the forum the sticky with capitals is posted on is run by newbies.

When I was new to forums, I didn't know what "Sticky: x" meant. Vader, you seem to be trying to justify your arguments with points which imply that every person who comes to the forums is as experienced with Internet forums as you are. They are not necessarily. Those who are as experienced may read that sticky post and run searches, but newbies would not necessarily.

If the title was in red, every person would read it if they scrolled enough for it to be in view, as there would be no other red text in view, hypothetically.

The small point is, red font is not rocket science, and if it cuts down on the numbers of ppl asking same questions over and over again..even 1 person then it is worthwhile price.

All this debate and I bet it's not even possible to have a thread title in red anyway :P
