Are your speakers on/plugged in/turned up?

Does your soundcard have 5.1 surround sound capabilities? There are some issues with W4 and 5.1 surround sound. I'd have to search the forum to find the solutions.

Just to make sure;
You haven't checked that box that says 'no sound' when the preloader window came up, right?

I'm also having this problem. There's no sound in the game at all. I've updated drivers, directX, etc, but still no sound. Sound everywhere else works fine.

I also have Realtek AC97 Audio.

Other specs:
-Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe
-AMD 64 3500+
-2 GB RAM
-Nvidia 6800GT x2

Terafor, have you found a solution yet? Anybody have any other ideas?

I think its compability issue with the AC97, but i dont know how to fix it... Maybe we should try to comunicate the support of Realtek...

Maybe, but AC97 is pretty common. I would think if the game didn't work with it at all it would be much easier to find information about it.

I've tried getting drivers from Nvida, Asus, and Realtek, but none of them made a difference. I also opened a support ticket with Team17, so hopefully they will have some ideas.

The thing is that when I downloaded the PC-Demo everything just ran beautiful. The game was working like a clock. I liked it so much that I purchased it. Then the problems started. First I couldn't install because the software had identified that I was using Nero Burning ROM. I trid to write the support and tell them that it wasn't their f-ing business what CD-burning software I was using as long as I've paid for both that and the game. I was adviced to upgrade Nero, which I did.

Hallelujah! After reformatting my Hard Drive I was able to get a glimpse of life from Worms 4 Mayhem. It ran just beautiful for, let's say two weeks, after that there was ... silence.

I'm running my computer on Windows XP Pro SP2. My processor is an AMD 64 3000+. My Graphics Card is Gigabyte GeForce 7900GT with 256MB DDR3 memory modules. I have 1 GB of RAM. So... what's missing.

I also noticed the startup option of turning the sound on and off. I tried to fiddle round with those controls but with no change. I also downloaded new patches for the sound card. No I'm not using any surround sound equipment, only using stereo options when I play.

To me it seems that this game is bristled with flaws and ought to be taken back to the drawing board again.

Well I found out that if I run Worms 4 on Windows Vista RC1, I have sound. This is despite the fact that Vista constantly tells me that my sound drivers aren't compatible...so I have no idea why it doesn't work on XP

Of course, even though the sound works, the video is not as smooth (probably because it's all beta drivers). Hopefully everything will work when Vista is finally released.
