are you interested in how high a pitch you can hear? do you wonder why your parents look at you funny when you cringe at electronics? do you enjoy ****ing off the neighborhood dogs and making your family's ears bleed? then do I ever have a site for you!

http://www.ochenk.com/entry.php?id=63

for the record, I topped out at 18k

I could hear them all! Therefore, I conclude that I am a dog.

My hearing sucks! I couldn't hear a thing after 17000 hz

Or then again it might be that my speakers suck.

You think 17,000 sucks. I could only hear it til after 14,000.

I could here 19, but only just, if I turned the sound up to max.

If I turned up to max and put my ear next to the speaker I could here 20, after that the sounds wouldn't even play the other sounds, but that's irrelevant really. Anyway the highest I could here that wasn't on max volume was 18.

I think my speakers are crap, I can hear them all.

Also, the 2nd of the two samples at the start is really painful to listen too.

Just tried it at my parents computer, and I could still hear them all, but it was quieter.

The 2nd sample was less painful too.

17k highest for me.
I'd probably get higher, but many of the high ringings get cancelled out by the ringings in my ear, due to my allergies. These ringings vary.

Thought this could be interesting here.

I go up to 20k, but after that I just get "beeep" type sounds so I'm not sure if I'm supposed to hear it like that or if it's my speakers spazzing out.

No, I get that too, and it's not realplayer making that sound, so I think it's buggered.

My speakers weren't even up to 25% and I could hear up to 19.

on max volume I can hear all apart from (oddly enough) 24....
I found it more difficult to hear after about 15, there was a huge drop in volume then at least.

I would test it but I already know I'm a dog so :p.

At max volume I can get to 20k. (Feel's like my heads being split in half.)
I can't hear anything at 21k.

And for extra fun, try opening all of the tones at once! (Note: Don't do this.)

I only had my speakers up half way.

Couldn't hear 20k.

Can't hear 21.

Some of you might want to try turning your speakers up to full volume without the sound playing, you might well get a high pitched whine simply from the sound card.

I got up to 20k, and that was IT. WHY!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
Because the rest of the files were currupted!

I made 19. 000 Hz.

Xinos
7 Sep 2006, 23:31
I could here the 20. 000 Hz one clearly, but I also noticed that it was the last file in mp3 format, the rest where silent .wav files. Either it's a coincidence or the wav's don't work with my setup.

Edit: Here's a probably more usefull device. I can here everything when the db is high enough..

I could hear all of them...

There's quite a difference between 20k and 21k though, when you compare it to 19k and 20k which might be why many of you can't hear 21k

My speakers weren't even up to 25% and I could hear up to 19.

Same here.
