a little video to show you guys what playing the wii is going to be like rather than just speculating until release. this video is a good impression of both good and bad points of the wii and gives a more down-to-earth feel for the system rather than the overly-hyped info present in most of the net.

anyway, here's a link to the site (it's ign btw). feel free to look for mirrors if you hate ign :p

Well, it's pretty annoying how Red Steel looks much crappier in action than it did in the ol' press conference. The slash lines remind me of a crappily done anime and have no place in a next-gen game. I mean, I know Wii isn't based on graphics and all that, but some more realistic motion would definetely help in a first person game.

Battalion wars looked fun and silly just like any Nintendo Wars game should be, and Mario Strikers is just yet another Mario sports spinoff, and I don't care about those unless they have Square characters (http://www.gamespot.com/ds/sports/mariobasketball/index.html) or something. Also, These just aren't the kinds of games I'd really enjoy in multiplayer. The Wii's second/third party support looks pretty promising though, so I really hope other developers would think of some innovative ways to take advantage to the controller, as opposed to a gimmicky goalkeeper minigame that, IMHO, looks like it's out of a Flash game. And personally I can't wait to see how Mario Galaxy and that One Piece game will turn out.

heh, I agree with your comment on red steel. I was looking forward to it, but it looks rather lame now that I've seen it in action.

the other stuff looked entertaining enough, but I never actually intended to buy any of them.

and btw, you can hardly expect the system to be devoid of tons of gimmicky mini games and such. when you make something new, everyone has to play with it at first to get the feel of what can be done with it....translation: it'll be a while before the gimmicky-ness is gone from wii.

I think Red Steel looks alright. But the player hand holding the gun is pure uggly. I don't want to see the whole arm, and the crossair looks too big aswell.

Why is it I think my wrists are going to suffer permanent damage from prolonged use of the controller?

It all looks nice though, but I can see some games could get to be very tiring over time.

also, it's #23. sorry for not mentioning that one and causing those without ability to think things through problems :p

It's just it takes absolutely ages to load, and I don't want to find out it was the wrong video afterwards. For christ's sake...
