Map Thief is no longer needed as there is a map extract feature from the replays.

Suppose it'll get more popular on WWP if Super Bits (http://www.cbc-wwp.com/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?p=19913#19913) are supported.

Map Thief is no longer needed as there is a map extract feature from the replays. Not really.Of course, if the user left the game before it started (but after he received the map), no replay was saved, thus the Map Theif would be the only way to save the map in this case.

Sorry, my bad, I'll rephrase.

Map thief is now, for the most part, no longer needed.

Not really.

just noticed this post... you don't need third party software to get maps from someone if the game doesn't start but the map was fully sent to you.... just quit all the way to the main menu and do offline hot seat multi player and the map is there... just right click it to edit it then enter a name and hit save.

Franpa, resaving a PNG with WA's colour-reduction algorithm is not a good idea. Many PNG maps are encoded with more than 64 colours, and WA reduces the number of colours to 64 upon saving, which equals a map quality loss.

wait...

is the colour reduction algorithm being worked on?

Hm, i thought that, after an online game, in wich the map is fully loaded, if you then go to hotseat, the map is there, but entering th editor makes it leave and changes to your latest self selected map.

I'm sure this used to happen, not sure if it still happens though.

It still does, but you can start a game without modifying the map, and extract it from the replay.

edit: lolz i meant seita.

I was inspired by this thread to make a page of links: http://www.nanacide.com/wanexus/

I did a bit of browsing to collect a few but it's probably far from comprehensive, so there's a little form at the bottom to submit new links (or report broken ones, or say whatever else you want to say)

We already have something like this, right here (http://wiki.thecybershadow.net/Worms_Armageddon). However, it tries do describe the nature and history of most community sites in detail, rather than be a link dump.
