I'm sorry but I'm going to have to come annoy you with another one of these 'problems'.

I bought some pack which contained W2, WA and WWP all in one (it was some special thing of the store). I know how much fun I had with playing this games and I wanted to go try to play it with friends / internet.

I installed Worms 2 but this one freezes while starting worms.exe with the following error:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v237/Iceblizzz/Other/w2error.jpg

Tryed rebooting, reinstalling and running in comp. mode for other windows (my systeminfo will be at end of post) but nothing worked. I didn't really care so much because I had 2 other Worms games..

Installed WPP first... Tryed a 'fast game' and everything worked! But when I restarted the game few minutes later...... it loaded into the menu but when starting a game there was no loading screen.. instead the screen flashes with orange and pink (I consider this as nothing bad because many games do this while starting) I can hear the loading thing (but I just see a black spot there). Game is done loading... screen is black but the game is playing (I hear worms and can shoot)
I searching about this on these forums and found a topic where someone had the same problem and was adviced to buy Armageddon because it was 'less buggy'.
Yeeey, I had Armageddon in the pack too!

Installed it with good hope ... but exactly the same error as in WA. With the flashing and then a black game.
I can understand if there probably isn't a real solution to this but it's always good to give it a try..

Pc stats:
- Pentium 4 - 2.6 ghz HT
- 1024 ddr3200
- Asus x800Pro (256mb ram, 400mhz, Shader Model 2.1, DirectX 9.0c)
- Windows XP Pro, (5.1, 2600)

I think this might be a video problem (so included some more info there) because my brother is capable of playing WWP, WA without an error.
He has an unpatched Windows XP Pro, Asus 9550SE, 512mb, Sempron2600.

Thanks

Ok well, dispite this being in the WWP forum I'm going to try and help with WA (maybe should be moved to diff forum?) as I think thats the most likely to work.

When installing WA did you follow the instructions on http://www.nanacide.com/wahelp/ ?
If not uninstall it and try again using those. So far we only have one person who hasn't been able to get WA to work on their machine so we should be able to get there eventually!

hmm yea did what they said.
Game works so far... although there are still some problems with the menu turning black and white but at least the games itself works!
Thanks

Ah, yeah the menu goes weird on me some times, minimising and maximising it tends to fix it though.
(put mouse and bottom of screen and click to minimise from the menu)

For Worms 2, You are trying to run it from your HDD. I though the file needed to run it (I'm not sure but I don't think it's called Worms 2) was on the disk. Try running the disk version-works for me

on the NON-disk worms 2, the file is called worms2.exe and the ICON file is Frontend.exe

No. Worms2.exe is on the disk. Unless it's trymedia, all other versions are completely illegal and illegally complete.
