This time it's guess the artist (because you can often guess the title from repeat lines)

Hopefully this first one will be suitably obscure:

You can have an affair / And nobody will care,
If it turns out you're gay / You just might get a day's,
Worth of press / Nontheless if you choose to confess,
To a string of liasons / It's not gonna phase / anyone,
Unless you have have them with livestock,
People nowadays are hard to shock.

You can gossip and rabbit / About your drug habit,
But if it's just dope / Then you ain't got a hope,
Of creating a scandal / most punters can handle,
They're bored of the spiff / You might just stun them if / you confess,
To dealing smack or smoking rock,
People nowadays are hard to shock.

Now you're not a real junkie till your face falls to bits,
You're not a real ladie's man till you're arrested for it,
You're not a real drunk till you're hospitalised,
It's not a real party till somebody dies.

It takes a lot more / Than consorting with whores,
Or just punching reporters / Seducing the daughters,
Of earls and MPs / Spreading rage and disease,
Or just being a lad / If you wanna be bad / enough,
To get attention round the clock,
People nowadays are hard to shock.

Is "no Google" a rule?

Assumedly. This is a competition.

I'm not sure it'd help you. Wait a minute...

*checks Google*

Turns out it is. How about that. There exists one fansite for the guy.

EDIT: Turns out there's a fifth and sixth verse I haven't heard of. See if these help at all:

There's really no end to what your minor celebs
Will attempt to pull off when notoriety ebbs,
Bizarre or obnoxious or just plain obscene,
Whatever it takes to get into Heat magazine.

Stay out all night, pull a bird, pick a fight,
Trash a bar, crash a car, but no matter how crazy you are,
It's a bore, we've all been here before,
As you come off the rails, you must know that you're destined to fail
To lift yourself above the flock.
People nowadays are hard to shock.

Paul I don't think anyone here's going to get that without searching. I did search it and now know who it is. I've actually listened to him on the shows he's been on, on BBC Radio. I also like Boothby Graffoe :)

You know, Paul, apart from Andrew and maybe Tom, of the active members of OD, I don't think anyone else is inclined to.

You sad, sad boy.

LOL, just kidding :) The shipping forecast sent me to sleep on school nights. There ain't no shame in it.

I guess it's your turn to post lyrics. Lyrics from what, though? Singing comedians or any old artist?

Yes, I should thank most people fearing english audio, and the ones who don't fear not going for anything that isn't an american pop culture product.

Oh god I'm 18 and I listen to radio 4.:eek:Well, I listened to it at 18 as well, if it's any consolation :o.

And awesome, someone got it without looking it up. Your turn, Phil.

Not that you gave it away with his radio show or anything.;)

In that case I'm going to post the lyrics from one of my favorite songs, I don't think googling will help much in this case, as the title doesn't actualy feature in the song.

Do you think its strange,
That theres a way of how you look at,
How you act,

And how you think,
Pretend theyre not the same as you

Did you know about his
Strength of convictions

Or how she puts all her
Faith in religion?

Did we take the time to
Really discover how little we
Know about each other?
Keep us from saying anything,
Cant separate from everything.

And all this really means youre one
In a crowd and your paranoid of every sound
Another friend you wont miss anyhow

So hang on, this is a game whereby you post up some lyrics and either we recognise them and say "I know that" or else we don't and say "I don't know that"?

If I wanted to do that I'd go into town and find someone with a clipboard.

Nahh, if someone recognises it and they get it right they can post their own lyrics. It's not entirely unfair if you've never heard the song; quiz show contestants don't always know the answers.

I didn't say it was unfair, I said it was boring.
