It's so funny yet sad to watch.

Had to zip it because it was over 100k

Think of it as a service to you all to define a 'bad player'. Dan and I are actually so good at Worms that we are able to realistically simulate what bad playing looks like.

Thank you and good night.

You've mastered the art of suicide.

Could someone summarise that replay for those of us less fortunate to not have WA?

worMatty
1 Aug 2006, 20:06
Certainly. worMatty's worms were loaded on to the APC when the Ultra Bomb was enabled, to protect them from the raining death angels. Then he used Bypass to force Dan to skip his turn, then used Napalm and x10 Effects to cover the rest of the terrain, killing off all enemy worms.

Dan and I spent an hour 'warming up' last night getting all the bad shots out of our system. We chose an open landscape with a poor selection of weapons and intentionally enabled anchorage.

It ended with worMatty killing his last worm.

'nuff said.

Pfft. I'VE done worse than THAT. :P

SupSuper
2 Aug 2006, 18:45
That was just the end. :p Most turns were spent the same way. Mine were filled with long grenade throws that eventually ended up on my own worms.

In any case, it's all Matty's fault. He anchored the game, in a non-anchor scheme, at the last minute, without telling me. So I can suspect it was purely to get revenge on me beating him in the previous NORMAL game. (also have a replay of that one)

And yet he still lost. So I have to say... HA! :p

worMatty
2 Aug 2006, 20:43
It was an accident. I got the picture of the anchor and the picture of the anchor with a cross on it mixed up.

Vader
2 Aug 2006, 21:30
Bah, pathetic.

Worms should be played anchored. It's the best way. Of course, if you're anchored you should get to choose where you start.

Oh, and I only play Sheep BnG, so my opinion might not count for much.

...

Anchored = good.

worMatty

Ordinarily I'd agree with you but the weapon set was completely mismatched and the placement random! To top it off there were no sheep crates and the players were utter ****e. Next time I'll kick his ass.

And that was my point, anchored game + non-anchor scheme = DISASTER!

Well it was certainly a dull (and therefore amusing) game to watch ;)

SupSuper

Well I found the chat amusing. :p

Oh, and just for the sake of it, here's the previous game. This one wasn't as bad. ;)

Sorry about not being able to make that game with you guys. It seems Wormnet doesn't like me: when I click on that "UK1 Server" thingy, the computer freezes and no amount of Ctrl-Alt-Deleting will fix it. When I click the Automatic thingy, it freezes and everything goes funky colours.

No problem. Have you patched the game unnecessarily? You told me you got it for your birthday.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I saw that at the time...

SupSuper

Well, according to it, there's some update you should've gotten before the beta update, and you said you didn't get any updates besides the beta, so I just figured...

I've worked it out. Turns out it was ZoneAlarm causing problems. I've told it to let W:A through now.

MINUTES OF THE MEETING (:p)

... once I'd sorted out that I needed to delete my IP address before we could get started, as it's apparantly dynamic...

Round 1: Matt eliminated first. Dan and I both down to our last worm before lag kicked in and he had to quit. I won by default...

Round 2: I was eliminated first, then Dan beat Matt.

Round 3: I can't remember the precise order of elimination, but I know I won :)

Round 4: Dan had to disconnect again, unfortunately. The round ended up a draw as Matt's last Worm dynamited mine but couldn't clear the blast area in time...

This is extreme silliness all wrapped up into one game! Congratulations! Now, have you seen Jeremy (aka Splongul) be the most silly wormer ever!? Check it (http://www.cl2k.org/forum/showthread.php?t=18976).

*finally watches video*

That was awesome.

How does one record a video, then?

Lex
12 Aug 2006, 10:11
To record a video, one plays a game of WA with the latest update installed. One finds one's recorded games in their WA\User\Games directory.

Wee! I'm doing WA support on the OD forum!

Watch Matty Kill Himself With A Homing Missile, and other such silliness.

People join a "Golf" game not knowing what it's all about.

(really short replays don't compress well so I couldn't attach this one. Go figure)

We suspect people also join a "BnG" game without knowing what it's all about it. Or they just plain suck. And the green team eventually finds out how much fun it is to be last and does its best to stay there. And drop outs. And suicides. And more!

Boy do I wish I could view these.
Damn my lack of W:A.
You know, I'd probably play it a hell of a lot more if I had it on the computer.

That green team on the last replay was controlled by the person I would most definitely label the worst wormer I have ever seen in my entire life. Then I'm going to have to watch it, and see how he compares with me.

(Well, to put it in perspective, I'm perfectly good when given access to all the weapons I like [Shotgun, Dynamite, Dragon Ball etc.]: I'm a strategy player rather than skill. I wouldn't be much cop in a BnG. I'd like to try a Team 17 at some point though, it sounds like my kind of game)

I might as well also post: the most boring W:A game ever. Mine and worMatty's first golf game, with Betong guiding us through it. worMatty gets left behind at first and ends up passing us all in the end, and I won my first game. Neat stuff.

I admit I'd have probably switched to Bazooka after the first of those bad bounces...
