I've been asked by Betong to enquire as to why his status says he's in Limbo -http://http://forum.team17.co.uk/member.php?u=5171 (http://forum.team17.co.uk/member.php?u=5171) as he can't post, view inside any forums or anything. If anyone has any ideas as to why this is or how he can solve this problem, post below.

Note: I'm not returning to the forum. Just posting this to help out a friend.

Looks to me like someone suspected an account breach and banned him precautiously.

That happened to me a while back.

Has he checked the email account he registered with recently?

If it's stoped working (or his inbox is full) Sel recives an error report in his inbox everytime the forum automaticaly sends Betong an email.

The in limbo status was created to counteract this.

Tell him to change the email in his profile (one of the few things an in limbo user can actualy do) and give sel an email.

Unfortunately Sel's off for a couple of weeks, so it may take a while for his account to come back on (the user mods won't be any help).

Alright, I told him all this and he's e-mailed Sel. Thanks for your help, guys. :)

And one day in a distant future, someone will have to break free your mouse from your cold dead hand, while your head is lying on your keyboard typing a letter constantly until the text field of a post reply window is full.

Worm Mad never posts, he left. Except for situations like this, of course.

I don't blame him for leaving. Sad thing is this place seems to lack the culture it had when WM was around.

too true.

And I'm not just saying nice things to lure him back.

okay, it's partly to lure him back.

Perhaps some of that has to do with his departure.

Damn, too late, he's already gone...

Welcome back Betong Ǻsna.

(I did the Ǻ by pressing Alt+0506, which is the base-10 equivalent of 01FA in hex!)

Use the character map! It's in your Windows accessories, accessible from the Start menu. That is, assuming that you use Windows.

I do. More's the pity.

Where's this "Character Map?"

I do. More's the pity.

Where's this "Character Map?"Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools

You'll love it. :)

OH MY GOD!

Betong Ǻsna. My apologies.

Ǻ.

NOW I know how to use those characters without going into OpenOffice, selecting Insert Character, and finding the one I want!

Now I just need an updated ASCII table. One with all of these weird characters on it.

Try just selecting a different font to get more characters. Some fonts have more characters than others.

Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools
Alternately, Start > Run... and type in "charmap".

Everything seems to be able to be done via that little run box, and I just never knew it. The Start Menu revolution has come full circle!

KamikazeBananze
13 Aug 2006, 11:11
Oh yes.

The only thing the Run box CAN'T do is... err, run.

Paul.Power

I imagine it can't juggle hand grenades either.

BetongÅsna
14 Aug 2006, 04:25
It does.

It holds parties and night when everyone's asleep, and your mother thinks it was you that was sick in the plantpot.

So that's why I always hear loud music upstairs around 3.

KamikazeBananze

I slapped my Run box today.

I got blamed for that mess in my room!
