Does anyone have any recommendations for watches or places to buy them that are based in or ship to the UK? I've been browsing Argos's site and thought these ones seemed good:

Quite a price range you've got there ;)

How much do you want to spend?

^ That's my watch. It's a wind-up, which some may find a hassle, but I don't really mind it. Kinda nice to know I'll never need to buy one of those expensive batteries...

It has some issues with the cogs coming loose. Luckily I can open it up when this happens and simply tighten a screw and its fixed.

I love the concept of 24 hour watches like this one, but they're far too busy and have too many lines; I like the simplicity of the one I have with no numbers.

Well, don't limit your suggestions based on price because I may breach my budget if I think it's worth it. Let's say the maximum would be £200, but as you can see from the examples I don't aim for a particular price. I don't like bling watches or crappy plastic straps, I like watches that aren't massively bulky, look as simple as possible considering their features and place practicality above fashion.

EDIT: Expensive batteries? A CR2032 and all other Lithium coin cells are £1.99 in Maplin. The silver oxide cells (really small ones) are £0.99.

EDIT: Nice watch.

Pretty comfy and lightweight - hate really heavy watches, and watches with metal straps...

I've never been much of a watch person, but my brother used to have a watch with a built in TV remote. I so enveiyed him.

I used to have one of those, but it was stolen from my bedroom by an ex friend and lost at school. I never did get the fifty quid back from him for it and last time I saw him was when he came in to my shop and asked about jobs. Needless to say I told him to **** off. Well actually no, I politely told the illiterate scruffbag with body odour to drop a CV in, we could always do with a laugh. Why do you think employers keep you on record?

How about this one?

Screams "NERD!" even louder.

Better idea: go here for lots of watches!

This is my watch:

Well, the closest I can get. My watch is slightly different. And weighs a tonne. I've developed a little tic. I raise my arm to get my watch to fall down my wrist till it stops, then I shake my arm until it hits my wrist. My arm feels so wierd without it. And I still shake my arm unconciously, even if I'm not wearing the watch.

I think I got mine from HSamuels. I wanted a nice watch for my 18th. I saw a few I thought looked nice in their window (we'd been browsing for ages as I'm very picky, to find more than 2 I liked (below about £200) in one shop is a bonus as the ones I liked were the most expensive (I've always been told I have expensive taste). Anyway it was a Seiko, I don't have a clue what the name of the specific model is but it was £180. I think it depends what you're after though. I wouldn't trust argos to sell me an expensive watch. If I want an expensive watch, I'll go to a shop that sells expensive stuff, like I did. However it you're after something like an Adidas watch then it may be best going to Argos. Shop around though, you may be surprised but I don't think I ever saw the same watch twice after going around all the jewellers shops on Oxford, so there's quite a lot of variety but that also means it's harder to compare prices.
