OK, two questions:

1) How do you get Worms 2 (patched to 1.05) to work under XP with DX 9.0c? Currently the connect to the lobby and to games, but the game is always "closed" to new players.

The FAQ on www.worms2.com states that W2 cannot work with greater than DX 8.1. Spagders home page, which is linked from this forum somewhere states that it works fine if you have DX9.0c (which I have). What gives?

2) How can I get W2 to work under a non-administrative account?
When I run it currently it acts like it is not installed at all. I have tried giving Full access to the BUILTIN\Users group to the Worms 2 directory, and to some registry entries, but it has not fixed the problem. There are possibly some less obvious registry entries that the program uses that I could not find.

Any help would be much appreciated :)

if you dont have a router... try disabling your firewall... if problem persists seek more help... if it goes away seek the info needed for adding to your firewall exceptions so you dont need to disable it.

I do have a router, but is is on the network border, and I am trying to start a LAN game, so it is not involved.

None of the machines on the LAN have local firewall software running (including the built-in MS one).

Any further solutions would be appreciated :)

dunno as i cant do a network game either... on the other pc it goes into the room i make and can enter my game but as soon as i start it my pc loads but the other gets kicked... i double checked my router settings and tried it without the firewall enabled on either pc (including ms one)... if anyone could help me aswell it would be appreciated.

also the other pc wont work with the cd... if you start any game it kicks you back to the main screen... but with a certain no-cd crack it plays relatively fine... just network games seem to fail.

(network = lan)

I have to connect to the Internet through a VPN connection.
Unless I do that, I don't have an external IP address, only an internal one (10.xx.xx.xx).

W2 always uses the internal one, so I have to use the W2 IP changing tool.
